Part 13

After Callen, Sam, my partner and I went to lunch. We went back to ops They sent me and my partner to the gym to do training for our test that is coming up pretty soon. Callen and Sam went up to ops to check on… Well i’m not really sure, what ever it was it was important. We basically stayed that way until 5:00 when Kensi came and picked me up. We went to her house, which was covered with the usual mess. But I didn’t mind, I practically grew up like that.

Kensi went to the kitchen to get food. She came back with twos plate of leftover pizza and some water.

I took the pizza from her and she sat down. I ate through one since before she turned to me and said “Spill.”

I sighed. I had been expected ever since Callen told me about it.

“I am really worried About Deeks.” I said. “I mean I have no idea what happened.”

“Kensi looked relieved, and said “That’s understandable, and since you have a right to know what happened i’ll tell you. We went in and I wanted to move in closer, because I didn’t have a good view of him. Deeks was covering me, I kicked something over and the Target heard us and shot deeks in the chest, they had to put him in a medical induced coma because the blood loss caused swelling in his brain. I don’t know if he’s going to wake up.

I was silenced, in shock, and immediately thankful that he was locked up for good.  That must’ve be awful, I couldn’t imagine going through that.  I thought.

“Kensi.” I said lightly.

“Don’t say it wasn’t my fault, because it was. If-”

“I’m not going to” I interrupted. “I was going to say, the person who’s fault it really is. Isn’t going anywhere for a long time, trust me. You can’t blame yourself for this.

“Okay. Thanks I needed that.”

Then we hugged and put in a movie. I don’t remember what movie it was. I wasn't really paying attention. I was thinking about my book that I was reading. I wonder what will happen. Oh, wait a second. I thought I don’t remember putting it in my bag this morning, I left it in the living room, with my partner... oh no.

I grabbed my phone out of bag and called my partner.

MY PARTNER:“Hello?”

ME:”You are in trouble.”

MY PARTNER:Why?”

ME:”You know what i’m talking about.”

MY PARTNER:”And what exactly are you talking about?”

ME“My book.”

MY PARTNER: “What book? Oh, wait that book, that one you were reading last night and this morning to avoid talking to me?”

I winced, Crap he noticed.

ME: You noticed huh?

MY PARTNER: “Yeah I noticed, so did Sam and Callen. We are all here for you, especially me. We’re partners you can trust me.”

ME: “I know I know. I just didn’t know what to say.”

MY PARTNER: “You don’t have to say anything. I can tell just by looking at your face. Anyways, i’m gonna go because I think Kensi’s got a surprise for you.”

ME: I have no idea how you know this and I’m not going to question it. You're probably right. Bye”

MY PARTNER: “Bye.

I turned to Kensi. Who had two bars of chocolate in her hand. I smiled and took one.

“Thanks, I needed this,”

“ Your welcome, I think we both did. If we don’t have a case tomorrow I am going to take you to see Deeks. It will make you feel better.”

“Okay thanks.” I said. My face lighting up for the first time in a couple of days.
