Rosabela

They soon found out about the incident that happened yesterday. Amoly dragged me home that day. She didn't care that Marty, the woman who ran the inn, needed help. The other girls returned a few hours later. There is certainly no need to say what kind of horrors they did during those few hours.

I woke up this morning and got ready to go again to help at the inn. I went out into the yard and headed for the gate.

"And where are you going?"

I screamed in surprise. Venus sat hidden in the shade of a tree in a rocking chair. She held one leg over the other and held a glass of wine in her hand.

"I'm going to an inn. Marty needs help. One waitress broke her leg and the other got sick. "I explained as I approached.

She looked at me with her dark eyes. She was angry. Even though she took the lives of the people who attacked me yesterday, she was still angry.

"You can't go." She said clearly and seriously.

"Venus, that is your inn. You and your sisters are the owners. No one would dare attack me there. "I said calmly, trying to reason with her.

She just sat there and kept quiet looking at her glass of wine. With a sigh, I sat down in another chair next to her.

"I know you want to protect me. But you can't always defend me from everything, sometimes I have to take a hit. "I said trying to make contact with her eyes.

"Venus, what if one day something happens to you. Let's say you die, or you travel very far. Then I would be left to myself, I would have to manage on my own. I should defend myself, but I won't know because I'm used to you always being there to protect me. Do you understand what I mean? "

Silence. Just silence. I looked in front of me looking at the wheat fields, we lived outside the city. After a few minutes of silence, she spoke.

"I will never forget the day my mother brought you home."

I smiled. I owe that woman, her mom, so much.

"You were dirty and really skinny. Bone and skin itself. Your fur was dirty and tattered. You wore that torn dress you were freezing in. I didn't understand why my mom brought someone like you home. I was not satisfied, I did not understand then. Later, she explained to me. She wanted me to have someone to take care of. I was still a unit then. I used to be selfish and arrogant. She worried that... this demonic side might prevail in me. She didn't want me to lose my humanity. "

She looked at me.

"In the end, I accepted you not only as my best friend, but as a sister. I understand and see that you are right. You have to go through some things on your own. It's just... that my instinct to protect you and my sisters is strong, sometimes it can blind me. "

Her gaze was serious but also sensitive. I laughed.

"I understand you. And it's okay, that protective instinct isn't so bad. Because of you, I have a quiet and partly normal life. But sometimes I also want to feel a little adrenaline. "

She laughed and took a sip of wine. There was silence again for a while.

"Who were the people who saved you?" She asked.

"I'm not sure. It was a group of four turtles, two humans and one rabbit. They come from afar. I was amazed that they helped me. I didn't expect that. "

"They seem to be, so to speak, positives." She took another sip.

She laughed.

"What's so funny?" I tilted my head.

"I feel sorry for such people. They never succeed in life. Whoever decides for such a life, full of justice and goodness, can only expect bad things. "

I remembered the warrior who calmed me down and his friends. The truth is what she said. She kills and steals, and she is rich and lives a comfortable life. They saved my life and they have nothing. I'm glad I gave them the money. I hope they came in handy.

That afternoon I was released to go help out at the inn. But with Amoly's entourage. She came with me under the pretext that she needed to check on the condition of the inn. I knew full well that she was leaving just to make sure something didn't happen to me. Venus is not the only one who is too protective

The day passed peacefully. The inn was one of the few places in town where it was quiet and peaceful. The reason was obvious. But I repeat, no one likes to have problems with my sisters, or bosses. The sun was slowly setting.

"Today has been a busy day." I told Amy.

She spent the whole day at a table in a dark corner of the inn. She was reading her medical book. Occasionally she would get up and take a short walk around town.

"I'm glad everything went well," she said without taking her eyes off the book.

"A few more hours and we'll close," I said, returning to the counter.

I was cleaning the glass cups when the door opened for the umpteenth time today. I looked up, and I couldn't believe it. A group of four turtles, two people and one rabbit entered the room. It was the same group that saved me from certain death yesterday. I couldn't hide the smile that appeared on my face.

I waited for them to sit at one table. When they settled in, I approached them excitedly. My heart was beating excitedly, he was glad to meet them again.

"Good evening! What would you order? "

Surprise could be seen on their faces. I laughed.

"Nice to meet you again." the red-haired girl said.

"Me too. Here's the menu. "I handed them a few menus.

"You work here, miss?" The black-haired boy asked me.

I tilted my head and thought for a few seconds what I was going to say.

"Well, not always. The inn is owned by my family. We had a shortage of workers today so I came to help. I'm usually at home. "

"What's your name?" The blue turtle asked.

"Rosabela." I said simply.

"Very nice name." Said the white rabbit with a smile on his face.

I smiled at him. A few minutes later I took their orders. As I walked to the kitchen I couldn't get his smile out of my silly head. I don't think I'll ever be able to.
