It was a nice clear sunny day in Okinawa, cars were passing by and a young boy around the age of 13 was scrolling on his phone when someone from a group of teens who were originally passing a baseball to one another accidentally threw it too hard and was about to hit a car when suddenly that 13 year old flipped his board, balancing it so it was straight up. Went to the wheels of the board climbed it up and caught the ball mid-air. The two women, who were waiting at the bus stop saw this and were awestruck. He threw the ball back to the teen, holding his hat, saying to himself "That's fine." "I'll play along with this."Location change!
Langa, with his slightly dirty shirt, he pushed his board heading straight to 2 plastic bottles that were connected by the tops. But instead of doing an ollie he moved the nose of the board up and crashed onto the floor. Reki skated to Langa and so did (Y/n). "Ouch, are you okay dude?" Langa responded, still in pain. "I don't get it." "Ollies aren't supposed to be difficult." "Aren't ollies in snowboarding?" "Or is this new?" Reki asked. "Yeah, they are. Langa then started explaining the differences between the two Ollie's.
"Be honest with me. How long did it take you both to get these down?" Reki started stretching and then he replied with two fingers showing. "For me? Two months!" "But that's pretty good considering most people take, like, three." He said confidently. "Three months?" Langa said in a worried tone. "Can't I be the one person who doesn't know how to do it?" "Like what? 'No Ollie guy?" (Y/n) snickered a bit at the nickname.
"That's fine if you don't wanna compete." Reki then skated to a ramp and slide down it. "Ollies turn a board that glides." "Into a board that flies." he then did an ollie. "Once you can ollie, you can go wherever you want!" The red-head then went up the ramp jumped and landed on the ground. "It's a frikkin revolution!" he then did a grind across the steps and then all of a sudden jumped down the ramp. "A world of possibility!" "I mean, sure, boarding's still fun without ollies." "But if you don't wanna stay in the park with the kids..." He then stopped his board in front of the two. "... You gotta learn to do it!" Langa was so mesmerized by that speech, it was really touching and (Y/n) could feel the passion within it. "I'm ready to take on that world," Langa announced. He then thought back to that time of his first beef. His heart was pounding. "P.S. Ollies don't work when you're tapped to the board." " So, don't even." (Y/n) said in a deadpanned tone. Langa then slouched his figure after hearing that. "You'll get used to it," Reki said. "You guys sure? I get so anxious." "And you've been snowboarding for how long?" (Y/n) asked finally sitting down with the two. "Uh, let's see." Langa started counting with his fingers. "Fifteen years, I think." This definitely shocked them, but Reki made it more obvious. "What? Since you were frikkin' two?" Reki asked. "If you've been doing it for that long, no wonder you're having difficulty skateboarding." (Y/n) said. "Let's go," Reki said. "Where to?" Langa asked. "You'll see!" Reki said with a smile.
While the three of them were skating back Langa decided to start a conversation. "What about you (Y/n)?" "What about me?" "How long did it take for you to do an ollie? You never told us." "Hmmm, I think it took me about a couple of weeks..." "WHAT?" Reki exclaimed. "Hm? it depends how much practice you put into it, in my case in middle school I had a bunch of free time and since I didn't really know anyone in my neighborhood I just decided to start skating.
