Rachel laid awake in her bed staring at the ceiling. Her heart was beating in a slow rhythm like a piano playing to a slow tune. After the talk with Jordan on the bench her heart wouldn't stop taking sudden leaps.
She didn't even know why though. I mean they did have a little moment....just a little one.
Nothing too special to make her heart go faster.
Right?
She let out a soundless sigh sitting up on her bed. Corvus sleeping soundlessly on a small light blue pillow on her night stand.
Rachel had gotten it back from the time she was caught bringing him in her room. For some odd reason her mother wouldn't let Corvus sleep in her room. Something about bird poop lying around in bizarre places?
Even though Corvus always went to do his business outside. It was the only condition Rachel gave him when it came to him sleeping on her night stand.
Neither less her mother had hidden away the pillow around knowing all to well Corvus wouldn't sleep without it
He kept making a fuss about it, some nights waking up the neighbors.
Even if she found him annoying Rachel understood why. The pillow was very comfortable and was also hand made by the one and only Martha Kent. So in its own way it was irreplaceable.
Corvus was always shown that humans were mean towards creatures especially birds.
He suffered it first hand.
Martha Kent on the other hand was another story. She had helped Rachel heal Corvus the time he had a broken wing.
Rubbing her temple Rachel let out a sigh of sadness. Her moment talking to Jordan didn't include the talk about the kiss or what it could lead to. But Jordan didn't need a girlfriend as he only needed a friend. After all he was barely figuring out who his father was and if he had powers.
