The concept of time was something that Haru couldn't really grasp well. That's why when her doctor told her she only had a year left to live, it didn't really bother her that much.
She pondered over it for a while but there wasn't really that much use into thinking too much about it. Humans were destined to die in the first place. That was what she always used to say.
And instead of crying over spilled milk, she decided to just do everything she wanted to do in the little time she had left. The girl also had no problem with her time limit being cut short nor did she care about who she spent her last days with.
Optimism.
That was the only thing she wished for. For her to pass on with a smile on her face. Without ever regretting anything. Haru had always been one to enjoy the rush. The way the heart beats in excitement and the way the her skin tingled along with the gust of wind.
She liked the extremes.
It wasn't that she didn't fear anything, if ever -- she feared many things. However, she could not pass up on the opportunity to seek for a new excitement. In a way, Sanzu was the same, though his entertainment is somehow, peculiar, as some may say.
The moment Haru saw him at the bar, she knew that he was the person he was looking for. Someone she can entrust her life with and someone who can accompany her during her last days -- well, if she could convince him without killing her.
And she succeeded, here he was in front of her, his legs crossed as he made himself comfortable on his seat, frowning as if he was dragged here against his will.
Haru balanced the pencil on her lips, pouting as she tried her best to keep it from falling. Sanzu and her were together inside a café, discussing about their plans more.
He regretted it. He regret ever agreeing to her plans. And yet here he was again, in front of the girl. Of course he decided to ditch her and just leave her alone but something inside of him wanted to know what kind of crazy plans she had up her sleeves.
He was a sucker for entertainment after all.
"Sanzu, can you stop sighing now? Come on, you agreed to help me," she nagged at him.
"You talk too much."
"I know and you frown way too much," she replied.
Sighing, he shifted his glance at the person in front of him. She was writing her bucket list. It was a lie to say that it didn't made him curious as to what she was writing there so he couldn't help himself and took a peek to what she was writing down.
Make Sanzu smile always.
He couldn't believe what was written there. Why was he included in the list of the things she wanted to do? She was a puzzle that he so desperately wanted to solve.
She placed her chin on her hand, smiling at him, "Are you curious? You're curious right?"
Embarrassed that he was caught peeking, he looked away and pretended to not be interested and shifted his gaze to a nearby book, pretending to read it. The girl erupted in fits of laughter as soon as she saw his action, making him snap his head back to her in confusion.
"Is the book good?"
"Yeah, it's really good."
She nodded, a teasing smile on her face, "Sureeee~ So good that you're even reading it upside down."
He glared at her as she kept laughing at him, his face tinted with a light shade of pink. What was he doing? Was he really spending his precious time, sitting in a café and chatting the afternoon away? I must have really gone mad. He thought.
