The chatter of students trying to make the most of a boring lunch period panned throughout the whole cafeteria, more noise booming in Sunghoon's ears than what he'd usually like.

Sunghoon wasn't a very loud person himself, but he did have loud friends. Ones that were currently just trying to piss him off for a reaction to entertain themselves.

Poking him consistently was his friend, Sim Jaehyun, accomplice to the older Lee Heeseung's constant pinching. Every time Sunghoon's face contorted into a further annoyed state, they would let out child like giggles, clearly satisfied with the reaction.

It really made him reconsider just who he hung out with.

Right then, for example, Sunghoon desperately wanted to go and situate himself beside Sunoo, who was a few tables away. The boy was busy giggling with his own friends, and much touching was going on there—be it hugs, hand holding, or head pats. Now, he wouldn't usually have any problem with Sunoo and his friends' close skinship.

However, it just so happened to be that the person closest to Sunoo in that little group was that Niki kid.

Sunghoon couldn't place his finger on it, but he felt some sort of disturbance in his body when those two were together, bunched up like that. He didn't like how Niki made Sunoo laugh up till he had tears in his eyes, or how the kid even wiped those tears off of his face.

Was he trying to push Sunghoon's buttons? The boy thought he had made it very clear that he and Sunoo had a closer bond that one day near the buses. It seemed that even that whole scene had not deterred him from getting all buddy buddy with Sunoo.

"Sunghoon, where are you even looking?"

"Pshhh, he's obviously staring at that junior he likes. Kim Sunoo, right? Peppy cute kid."

At this, although his face didn't show it, Sunghoon freaked out. He thought he had been doing well at keeping his affiliation with the younger on the down low for the past years- so why, all of a sudden, did these two idiots figure it out?

Sunghoon forced out a chuckle, raising his eyebrow in what he hoped looked like amusement. "Yeah, we're close as hell so I guess you could say that."

"You're so close with him you let him do that skinship stuff with you?"

"Yes, Jaehyun."

The boy whined, grabbing Sunghoon's shoulder and shaking it in a small mock tantrum. "But you've never let me do it! Are we not close, hoon?"

"That's because you never ask," Sunghoon offered his hand to Jaehyun with a grin. "I didn't think you would want to do any of that stuff, y'know."

With glee, the puppy like boy took his hand and immediately began playing with his fingers, running his own along Sunghoon's knuckles and thumb against his palm. The taller couldn't help but smile fondly at his little actions.

Maybe if he wasn't so caught up in keeping a prided slick reputation and trying to stay on top to impress his parents, Sunghoon would've began to see these cute traits his friend had way before. It was a shame really, that he wasn't able to truly notice things until he let his worries go. But now, at least he could appreciate these little actions and habits and get closer to his friends.

A feeling of adoration pulsed in Sunghoon's heart, and as a result he reached over with his other hand to ruffle Jaehyun's hair.

"You two should probably stop what you're doing."

A little bang on the table diverted both of their attention as they looked in front of themselves to see Heeseung smiling nervously, trying to convey something with his eyes. He rigidly motioned his head towards their left.
