2 Years Prior//Kim Sunoo: 16
"Mom! Mom, look- there's neighbors moving in!"
The young Kim Sunoo almost tripped over himself as he trampled upstairs to where his mother was painting. By the time he reached her room, the easily fatigued boy flopped onto her bed to catch his breath, closing his eyes.
"Neighbors, hm? I don't know if it's just me, but you look a little excited," the mother chuckled from her spot on the floor. She resisted the urge to boop her son's nose with the paintbrush in her hand.
Sunoo jumped up from her bed, miraculously gaining all of his energy from his discovery back. "Yeah- can we bake muffins for them? Please please- pretty please, mom?"
The adolescent's mother merely smiled, giving him the thumbs up to race back down the stairs and rummage the bottom kitchen drawers for utensils while frolicking around the whole kitchen for ingredients as well.
Needless to say, Kim Sunoo was a bit excited at the arrival of new people in their neighborhood.
Who could blame him? Ever since he had gained a conscious memory from the age of around four, Sunoo hadn't ever met kids in his neighborhood. They were at school, but never close to where he lived. It was frustrating to the peppy boy at times, because he had all of this energy stored within his boyish body but couldn't find anything fun to do with it because he didn't have any close-by friends. It didn't help that right then, it was his summer vacation. No school friends were near, even including that one fourteen year old boy that kept boasting about gummy vitamins. For some odd reason, Sunoo missed his annoying presence. But then again, he was quite desperate for a friend.
So, now that this new set of neighbors had appeared in the formerly vacant house next to them, the young boy could finally have a shot at getting a buddy!- well, if these neighbors of his had any kid that was close to his age. Sunoo didn't have any preferences towards people if he were to be completely honest. He would very willingly take anybody whatsoever, and have fun with them.
The boy scurried over to the window of his house that let him get a clear view of the moving team, eyes scrambling to find any sort of teenage-life in the furniture. He assumed that there would be obvious telltale signs of a teen's presence through items- like a feminine vanity, or perhaps figurines of things that were popular during that year.
But none of these things caught Sunoo's eyes as he still desperately looked. Every piece of furniture had a modern, sharp vibe to it. The theme screamed precision and perfection, the interior must have looked pretty cool. He wished he could see it someday, maybe go inside to play hide and seek with the kid(s?) of this new household to gain nostalgia of playing it when much younger, or doing Seventeen karaoke together-
Ah, right. Still no signs of youthful life. Kim Sunoo's excited mentality was getting ahead of itself.
The boy let his head rest on one of the couch cushions, placing it near the top so he could rest his head but also keep an eye out for a kid. A sigh escaped his lips, pout slowly forming as his bottom lip jutted out ever so slightly.
He didn't want to be lonely again this summer.
While Kim Sunoo was a very sociable kid, his parents were short on time and access, not being able to transport him 24/7 to every playdate or fun event his school friends had planned or invited him to. Because of his limitations and inability to go out too often, he got invited less to things. It didn't decrease his likeability nor did it stop him from becoming popular amongst those of his peers, but that meant that he couldn't go anywhere during the summer.
