(say the name)

A few weeks had passed since Sunoo had began the process of befriending his hot neighbor. In those few weeks, the boy had collected several pieces of information about him- for example, his name: Sunghoon. Freshly turned 18 year old Park Sunghoon.

When he first approached Sunghoon, Sunoo thought that the boy would be more arrogant, or have even a little bit of an attitude. Sunghoon had this sort of chic, high class aura that led Sunoo to assume he would have to walk on slight eggshells when conversing with him in the beginning of their friendship.

However, Sunoo was completely thrown off when Sunghoon actually began initiating conversations, a cute glint of excitement in his eyes when they talked about their first common interest (seventeen) and the slow path to finding other common interests. He had told Sunoo very passionately about how he wanted a puppy so badly, but couldn't since he had allergic reactions to fur.

The serious upset in Sunghoon's features when he said that to Sunoo only made the younger boy want to pinch his cheeks, because god if that wasn't adorable. He honestly though he would be thirsting over his neighbor rather than cooing over him, but it was still attractive at the most.

Sunoo smiled, chuckling to himself softly as he got up from Sunghoon's bed. On that day, he had come over to Sunghoon's house because the older boy had invited him over. It was a Wednesday, so in Carat tradition, they were going to watch the most recent episode of Going Seventeen together.

Sunoo had originally suggested to Sunghoon that they watch it in the living room because his parents might want to watch, but Sunghoon quickly shut down that idea, saying it was better that just the two of them watch it.

While probably unintentional, this sentence that the older male uttered made Sunoo blush like hell. In his deluded fairytale mind, that was Sunghoon saying that he wanted to be alone with Sunoo. Just the two of them. Together.

Sunoo shook his head, giggling and mentally scolding himself. 'Get yourself together, it's only been a few weeks. We can't make moves on him just yet.'

'How long is that guy going to take?' Sunoo thought to himself curiously, huffing slightly as he began walking around Sunghoon's room.

The older had left the room to get them snacks so they could eat and try not to choke while watching GoSe, but he was taking longer than Sunoo expected. What, was the dude manufacturing the snacks himself?

As if answering Sunoo's question, the room door opened, making the boy stop in his tracks to look at him. "That took a bit." Sunoo joked.

The expression on Sunghoon's face was solemn, his gaze lost for a minute as he turned the corners of his mouth up in a meek smile. "I hope you like buttery popcorn. Let's...watch, okay?"

His lips had resembled the beginnings of what he was trying to do (smile) but the elder's eyes seemed to be lifeless, if not pooling in a sort of misery that made Sunoo shiver.

Something was up.

Sunoo nodded slowly, biting his lip. How should he approach Sunghoon about this? He sat down on the couch in Sunghoon's room, though not putting the episode of GoSe on.

Sunghoon sat down next to him, Sunoo noticing how his posture was a bit stiff. His jaw seemed clenched, only worrying Sunoo more. Sunghoon was happy, excited even, before he had left the room. What had happened that changed his mood so abruptly?

The elder's hand reached out to start playing the episode, but Sunoo made the quick decision to grab his hand before he could press play, gulping himself.

Sunoo shook away any doubtful thoughts, feeling Sunghoon's confused gaze on him. He turned to face the male sitting next to him, meeting his eyes. "Is everything alright?"

"Where is this coming from? I'm good, let's just start-" Sunghoon started, forcing a chuckle out of his mouth. This one detail was something that told Sunoo not to drop the subject.

The boy bit his lip, hoping he wasn't ruining anything with his next moves.

He got up, taking Sunghoon's laptop off of his lap and putting it on the male's desk. "I'm sorry if I'm coming off as nosy right now, but I don't really think you're doing so well right now, Sunghoon..."

Sunoo walked over to Sunghoon, standing in front of him where he was seated on the couch. The male was looking down, his lowly hung head only telling Sunoo that he was breaking through to the boy. He gently put his hands on Sunghoon's shoulders, trying to make his actions seem as calm as possible despite feeling his rapidly beating heart throb against his chest. He had to be comforting right now.

Sunghoon's head tilted up to face him, his eyes cloudy. The expression he held on his face was almost trying to be stoic, but stuck between depression and calm. "It's not important." He said this while swallowing a lump in his throat.

The younger boy smiled softly at him, trying to convey every relaxing or comforting emotion he had in his soul through his eyes that held a tensed gaze with Sunghoon's, one he was trying to decode and defuse. "If it's bothering you, it's important. I want to help, you know? I know I haven't known you long, but I can't just sit here and let your feelings get pushed away. Heck, you don't have to tell me anything, but please just let me comfort you, okay? I want you to be happy right now."

Sunoo let a silence consume them after he muttered his words, his ears burning red as he fought every urge he had to crawl into a hole and die. Here he was, giving a whole ass passionate sad sappy speech to this guy who was probably going to kick him out of his house because he was being overly emotional. But he couldn't take back what he said, now could he? He just had to act confident about it, and then maybe Sunghoon would buy his sincerity and maybe not banish him.

Sunoo's eyes widened at how Sunghoon's eyes turned glassy, the boy standing up and rubbing them away. He looked at Sunoo, the boy's hands still upon Sunghoon's shoulders. "You aren't going to interrogate me...?"

The boy nodded. "Just-um- let me help you, in any way I can-that you're comfortable with, obviously..."

Sunghoon stared at him for a bit, probably trying to find any shady plan or malice in Sunoo's wavering eyes or contemplating a decision. The boy wasn't focused on anything but how much he wished his face would stop burning. This was not the time to get embarrassed, not at all.

Before Sunoo could calm his own stupid heart down any more, Sunghoon suddenly leaned down, his arms circling around Sunoo's waist as he pressed his body against Sunoo's. The elder buried his head in Sunoo's shoulder, holding him in an embrace.

Sunoo, while in shock for only a few seconds, quickly responded to the hug, sliding his arms around Sunghoon's shoulders gently and rubbing his back in circular patterns. He felt a dampening on his shoulder, where Sunghoon's head lay, but didn't retract.

He was going to make sure he was someone Sunghoon could rely on, from then on.
