Note: I made Mikasa a year older than Eren for the sake of the plot
For the portrayal, I'll be using s4 versions of the characters except for Mikasa.
Enjoy!
------------------
Mikasa Ackerman is a girl who prioritizes her academics and any other school related responsibilities more than anything. Now that she's starting 12th grade, her last year of high shool and things gets difficult from there. The subjects, the topics, the schoolworks, projects, and even those extracurricular activities. Grades are important for her, and getting in to great universities is her top priority right now.
School is about that, taking classes and getting grades that are either higher than your parents' expectations or lower than your self-esteem. Mikasa takes studying a bit too seriously, some even calling her a nerd for it. It was a mere insult, but to Mikasa, it was something not as highly to what she expects. Even though she has her own world, she can't help but anticipate to what others think of her.
Truthfully speaking, your reputation in high school will definitely be a talk years later. Though people told her that what's important is the future, anyone can't escape their past. So, Mikasa, being a worrywart on the inside, will try her best to keep her image lowkey.
"Hey, pres. This is the transferee's file. Principal said he'll be here any minute." Armin said, handing her a brown folder.
Being the president of the student council is difficult. She had no idea why she was nominated in the first place, it was like an agreement for the other students to vote for her.
Now she's here, sitting on the swivel chair at the student council office, fixing some files for a transfer student who, for some reason, joined school in the middle of their first semester.
Mikasa sighed as she massages her temple, it's currently 7:40 am and she's getting early morning headache, though it was her fault for staying up late cramming her essays. A knock on the door startled her, jolting her awake.
The principal walked in with a boy. She took note of his lopsided tie and messy hair. So much for his first impression.
"Good morning Ms. Ackerman. I apologize for disturbing you while you're in class." Principal Erwin said with an apologetic look, he then gestured at the boy behind him. "This is Mr. Yeager. He'll be in 11th grade."
The boy nodded in response before smiling towards Mikasa. She didn't know why, but she found it a bit annoying.
Mikasa scanned the file, eyebrows rising in disbelief. Now she knew the reason why this boy transferred in the middle of the semester.
To put it simply, this boy is a walking disaster.
Mikasa eyed the boy who is currently scanning the entire room before staring at the painting behind him. She gave the principal a look.
Principal Erwin smiled, "We took him in since no other school near his old ones wants him. Just keep an eye on him."
Mikasa fought the urge to roll her eyes in annoyance. Great, another responsibility.
"Mr. Yeager." Mikasa called once the principal walked out the room. The boy turned his head to her direction and flashed his smile. Once again, she fought the urge to roll her eyes.
"Just call me Eren." The boy replied, both hands stuffed into his pant pockets while walking towards her in confident strides.
"If you don't want to transfer again, please follow the school rules. Since it's past 7, you can enter your next class, which is," Mikasa looked at the small index card with Eren's schedule. "History. 8:15."
Eren groaned in response before setting his butt on the black sofa, crossing his arms.
"I hate history. Can I just stay here until school ends?" He tried to negotiate. Mikasa puffed in frustration.
"No, you have to attend your classes and ask the teachers for your missed activities." Mikasa replied.
Eren looked at her with bored eyes, "Come on," he squinted his eyes and took a brief glance at the name tag embroided on the left side of Mikasa's uniform jacket, "Mikasa Ackerman."
"I'll be expecting you at your next class." Mikasa said with such authority before walking towards the door, "Oh, please fix your tie."
Eren watched as her shadow walked by the window. He smiled to himself before walking towards his class. History might be boring, at least he had the older girl's annoyed face stitched into his mind to distract him.
The lower grade's room are a floor below her room. Mikasa groaned when a flock of students blocked her pathway. Both boys and girls stared at her either in amusement, jealousy or maybe even both. There is no doubt that Mikasa is a head turner with her small face, full pinkish lips, sharp nose, and long black hair; her perfect body proportion and tall figure is a bonus.
Mikasa held her head up high, being the president of the student council, she needs to show confidence and be a role model for the younger students.
"OI! COMEBAAAACK!"
Before she knew it, her body was thrown on the ground. Mikasa winced in pain as she fought with the pain in her butt. An outstretched arm is suddenly in her vision, she looked to see none other than Eren Yeager smiling at her.
"You might want to get up, people are staring." Eren said. Mikasa ignored his hand and got up, dusting her uniform in the process.
Mikasa peered over Eren's shoulder, "Mr. Kirstein. No shouting in the halls." Said student gave her a sheepish smile, giving Eren a playful punch in the arm before walking away.
"As for you Mr. Yeager," Mikasa said with a monotone voice, dull eyes staring at his glistening ones. Not that dreamy one, the one with full of mischief. "No running in the hallways."
Eren, for no apparent reason, smiled at her again. She would've wiped that smile off of his face when she had the chance. But being the prim and proper student that she is, she kept her hands to herself.
"You're so uptight, Ackerman. Might want to relax a bit, your shoulders are getting stiff." Eren teased, wincing in pain as he touched his arm that collided with hers, pretending that it was broken.
Mikasa ignored his constant teasing, walking past him and walked away like nothing happened. Eren sighed as he, once again, watched her back.
"Hey, Miks. You're in charge of detention today?" Armin, the vice president asked.
"Yeah."
Mikasa stood up from her seat and proceeded to the empty classroom beside the office. The room was used by the seniors last year, and from there no one ever used it since. Even though it the sun is still up, Mikasa can't help but feel chills up her spine whenever she enters the room.
Grabbing her book and answering sheets from her bag, she decided to do her homework while waiting for the students who had detention.
And to her amusement, Eren Yeager walked inside.
"Oh, hey Ackerman. Fancy seeing you here." Eren commented as he handed her his detention slip. Mikasa scoffed at what trouble he caused.
'Talking back to teachers.'
"I supervise. Take any seat, your 2 hour will start from there." Mikasa said tediously. Her dark brown eyes bore into his green ones.
Eren took a seat in the middle of the classroom. Sinking into his seat and crossing his arms. "Where's everybody?"
"This is everybody. The first to have someone in detention on a monday."
Eren chuckled in amusement, resting his face on the palm of his hand, staring at her with a smile. "Lucky you, huh?"
