"Its cry was like a cut, cutting the silence and cutting everyone's guts, which was so sad. It was the "Dad" that she had been trying to suppress for so many years, the "Dad" sounded like it broke out from her heart, she cried and rushed forward, as fast as a squirrel, then jumped up and spread her arms to hug her father's neck."

👨‍👧This is the full English-translated Version of "Chiếc lược ngà", a short story written by Nguyễn Quang Sáng. He was a famous and talented author in Vietnam who passed away in 2014. A short part of this story was brought into the Vietnamese 9th-grade second-term textbook with the same name. This literary masterpiece hasn't been translated into English before, so it doesn't have any official English name and my translation is its first English version. Therefore, please do not copy or re-up without my permission.

This story is about the father-daughter relationship of Mr. Sau and Autumn amid the war in the South of Vietnam. Mr. Six and his best friend, uncle Three, joined the resistance army to protect their country-Vietnam from American invaders. After 7 years of separating, he could finally meet his daughter in person, but Autumn's reactions weren't what he had expected.
