It had been six months since she and Ava got back together. And in those past six months they began to reestablish old habits and routines. New ones were also made since Ava decided to continue her practice in Star City. She opened a private firm a couple of blocks away from the station with Laurel as one of her partners. Their little girl, who just turned five, will be starting kindergarten in a couple of months. They picked a good school, close to Ava's firm and the police department so they could pick her up and drop her off.

Every morning was the same. They would wake up to the sound of their alarm, with Laurel cuddled in between them. They don't even know why they bother to tuck her into her own bed, since she would always find a way to sneak into their room at night. They would occasionally cook breakfast, and take their time in the dining table.

Ava did good on her promise of making up for lost time. On weekends, they would go on to visit parks, or ice cream shops. She took Laurel to the zoo to see the monkeys. Despite being extremely busy, Ava had never missed a weekend with her and Laurel. It was good to see her genuinely happy again.

Sara had loved this woman for so long, but since getting back together, she has learned to love her even more. She has seen how much she suffered, and how much she had grown. The Ava she knows now was a better version of who she was before. She couldn't imagine how she almost let her go.

"Mary me, Lance"

The words echoed through her mind. Ava whispered these to her weeks ago when she was still asleep. Partly. She didn't have the courage to open her eyes, or to answer because she was sure that Ava didn't mean for her to hear it. So she waited. She waited for a proposal, or for her to bring up the topic, but weeks had gone by and there was no question.

"So... did she really propose or?" Zari took a big chunk off her honey glazed donut.

She tried to keep her cool, but she couldn't stop thinking about what Ava said. Carrying this information was too much for her. Most nights, she would lay awake, staring at Ava's sleeping form and contemplating whether what she heard was real or not so she turned to her friends for help. They all decided to meet in the Waverider café. It was a miracle that almost everyone was able to go.

"I... I don't know. All I heard was 'marry me, Lance' and that's it" she takes a sip of her latte. She didn't know how nervous she was until she felt her cold hand meet the warm cup. She clasped it with both hands, rubbing against it to calm herself.

"Maybe you were just dreaming" Nora raises her brows at her.

"Could be. But it felt so real you know?" she tried to recall that night again. She felt Ava caress her face. Despite it being a whisper, she heard the words loud and clear. It felt so real.

"So... Ava kind of proposed while you were sleeping and then she never did it again... to your face... while you're awake?" Nate gave her a confused look.

"I mean... If she did propose, wouldn't you think she had done it by now?" Nora grimaced. "Or maybe she's still planning it"

"Or maybe pantsuit just got cold feet" Mick grunted. "She likes to run away" He cuts his burger in half and shoved it in his face. Ray looked terrified after Charlie gave him a slap on his arm. However, Mick didn't seem to care. He just kept eating his burger.

"Huh..." Zari finally finishes her donut and licks her fingers. "Would you have said yes though?"

Sara was taken back with Zari's question. On the nights she was actually thinking about the proposal, she never thought of what her answer was. It couldn't be 'no'. She and Ava were getting good and she knew eventually, getting back together meant fixing their family. A no would have a terrifying result, but then again, so would a yes.
