"Mitchy-chan ya' little shit take that back! You dare insult my badass hair huh?!"

Normally, Gen would straight up beat every person who makes fun of his hair or his style but the boy in front of him is an exemption. He doesn't really know but he just liked this sassy boy in front of him. Not in a weird way but in a way where he wanted to stick by his side for no reason at all.

And this 'little shit' that he was referring to is a person named Takemichi Hanagaki.

"Yeah, how about no?"

Takemichi sniggered and stuck his tongue out then ran away.

"Fucking shitty hair!"

Gen retorted and went to catch the latter. He was pissed but not in a serious way. More like pissed when a friend of yours insults you straight to your face kind of pissed. It was only like a month that they have known each other and yet he felt drawn to Takemichi. Maybe because of his innocent and yet deadly persona.

Gen could tell because he is pretty good at reading people's expressions and personality through first impressions. Takemichi may be smiling and all but he looks like he has been through a lot. His eyes tell it all.

When he first met the younger boy was when he was ganged up on and got beaten pretty badly by a couple of high schoolers that he managed to piss and that is where Takemichi intervened. The boy was so shitty at fighting that he too was beaten up pretty badly but even so, he was surprisingly standing still and by the looks of it, he wasn't scared by them. Luckily, Gen's gang members had come and taken care of them. Any longer and they would have been beaten to death because they fight dirty with bats and even brass knuckles. Fucking shitty bastards as Gen would call them. They're not even just delinquents anymore but just some purely stuck-up assholes.

He liked his bravery and at the same time stupidity. Takemichi is brave, he doesn't back down and doesn't hesitate to help even strangers but also stupid for jumping in without thinking and putting himself in danger for someone he even doesn't know his name. He even remembered Takemichi's words when he butted in that time.

"Lame ass bastards. Don't you think you're wasting space in this cramped world? You should all better be dead"

Kinda disturbing if you asked him. It's like he had gone through hell and had experienced all kinds of suffering despite being still a middle school kid.

If only Gen knows.

That alone made him see the younger boy in a different light. He wanted to know what made Takemichi as he is. Or maybe he was twisted like this from the very start. He wanted to know so he stuck by his side despite Takemichi's protests and pushing him away constantly until he gave up and here they are now.

Hanging by the park on a cold evening.

...

"What's up Mitchy!"

A slightly older boy in a slick back moss green hair waved at the two boys hanging by the swing. This green-haired dude is feeling like the joker :)
