(A/N dis chapter gonna be angst and sad)
Percy Jackson, and Annabeth Chase we enemies. It was clear just by the flaming glare they give each other when they walk past each other in the halls. They thought that they're were opposites. Completely opposite. It was quite depressing. But in reality, they were more alike then it seemed to be. They both got abused by an evil step-parent. Their other parent not knowing about it. Both had hidden scars that made obstacles wherever they may go. Both are lonely. But they hide the tears behind smiles and "I'm fine. How are you?"

Both had silent sobs that connected. They made them so close, but oh so far away.

Most days were normal school days for them. They got up, went to school, came home, got a beating, sleep, and repeat.

Percy's scars were filled with little bits of glass from broken bottles. Annabeths had red fingernail bits.

Could two broken souls be lovers?

One day, Annabeth was walking home from school. She was ready to go home and get a beating. As was Percy. He walked on the same trail as Annabeth. They had done it for years. They may hate each other, but neither of them wanted to be alone. To the other, it was a mystery. But to themselves, it was the same problem. Every step Percy took, looked like it caused him mass amounts of pain. "What's wrong?" Annabeth finally spoke up, after all these years.

"I- nothing. I'm fine." He groaned.
"You don't look so fine." She noticed his hand was by his ribs.
"Wow thanks a lot- hey what are you-"
Percy was caught when Annabeth stopped him and pulled up his shirt.
"Percy! I- who did this?"
"Um no one. I fell down the stairs."
There was no way a huge gash that was poorly bandaged could be made from falling down the stairs. As Annabeth was going to say something, a white van pulled up. A man got out. He had a mustache and looked like a walrus in thrift store clothes.
"G-gabe?" Percy whimpered. Annabeth never heard Percy sound so weak before.
"Come on boy! I need to give you your daily Beating!" He seemed to notice Annabeth at that moment.
"The girl needs to come too. She's heard to much." He said.
"N-no! Leave Annabeth out of this!" Percy exclaimed, clutching his ribs.
"No." Gave threw both Percy and Annabeth into the truck.
Percy gritted his teeth. "How are you?" Annabeth asked, when she noticed he landed on his ribs
"Just tired." He said.
They pulled up to an old, and abandoned building. It was rusty, and looked like a horror movie house.
He grabbed Annabeth and Percy and yanked them out of the car. He carried them to the big rusty building, with the help of two other males.
"Owe" Percy moaned.
"Shut it boy." Gabe warned.
He set them down in a cell together. Annabeth and Percy leaned together got the support. Her head was now resting on Percy's shoulder.
"How are we going to get out?And you know, win?" Annabeth meekly asked.
"You can't win against someone who has nothing to lose." Percy answered.

Annabeth was going to respond, when gabe came out. "I will take the boy to have a beating of his own." When both Percy and Annabeth shook their heads he resorted to something else. "If you don't come, I'll kill the girl."
Percy protectively shuffled in front of Annabeth.
"Say no." She whispered in his ear.
"But you'll die!" He whispered-Shouted.
"Yes." Percy answered. Before Annabeth could process, Gabe grabbed Percy and took him away.

It was awhile before Percy came back, beaten and bloody. His face had new bruises and he looked like he broke a couple ribs.

"We'll get out wise girl. I promise."

Annabeth fell asleep for a while. When she awoke, their was an opening in the bars, and a grinning Percy. He had a sharpened spoon. "Annie! I made a hole!" (A/n oop.)
"Really? Yes!" They both whisper-shouted. They both climbed through the hole.
"We'll make it out of here." Percy said, mostly to himself.
"Together?" Annabeth asked.
"Together." He responded.
They made their way through the building. They had no idea where they were, at when Annabeth suggested they go through a small tunnel, Percy immediately shook his head. He then told her he was claustrophobic. They both saw the doors to the outside. "That's it. That's the end." Percy breathed.
They ran out.
As soon as they got outside, they breathed in the sweet, crisp air. When they were done savoring the air, the looked at each other and smiled. "We've done it. We got out. I'm sorry I had to get you in to that mess. But it was an adventure." Percy said.
"It's all part of the journey in the end." Was all Annabeth replied. And that when Percy realized just how much he loves Annabeth. And that's when Annabeth realized how much she loved Percy.

The next few days at school, the pair wasn't there. They were at the police station, filing charges against both of their step-parents. They had soon figured out the Helen, Annabeth's step mom, was another kidnapper.

When they went back to school holding hands, everyone wondered what caused the sudden change in their attitude. It went from a cold hard glare, to loving looks, telling each other it was ok. And that they were together.

Every once in a while Percy would lean over and whisper, "we're in this together. Remember? Together?"
And again, all Annabeth replied was "Together."

This confused many people, on why they hated each other, and now they were dating and totally in love. And whenever people asked, they would say "I gave him/her a chance."
But their favorite

Was a few days after they got out of that horrid place. Because Annabeth had told Percy that she wanted to try out a date.
And what Percy replied?

Well he just said, "I think...I think I can love you."
Who knew being kidnapped would bring two amazing kids together.
Well,

They are thankful for that day. For the rest of their life. And they spent it together.

What can I say? That's just what love can do.
