Shen POV

I had such a good time with Xia yesterday.  That I made the decision to ask her out today.  I want to show her my special place.  I walk into her parents building and see her existing the elevator.  "Morning" I say as she walks towards me smiling.

"Look at the weather? It is perfect" she states as we exist the building.  I smile at how happy she seems and open the car door for her.  She bows before getting in making me laugh.  Once on the road and heading out the city, I feel my shoulders begin to relax and the weight I carry lessen.

"I don't think I've been this side of the city before?" Xia says looking out the window.  "People tend to head to the coast or the mountains.  Not inland" I answer "true I love both, but really don't care as long as there is fresh air and something new to see" Xia says easily smiling at me

"Someone easy to please, rare in these times" I joke "its good to know what you enjoy and what you don't" she answers

"I think its been a while since I asked myself what I like?" I say thoughtfully.  "You should take sometime then.  Doing something you enjoy helps you live longer" she says watching the scenery pass by.

I smile as I think, I've found one thing I like recently, very much.  We talk about different things and I learn that she has been to a lot of different places and has learnt something from each place. 

I tell her a little more about what it was like growing up with a controlling mother and a father who lets things go easily.  I even tell her about the time a family friend thought she liked me and because I didn't agree to go out with her.  She got me drunk, drugged me and then said I'd spent the night with her.

When I explained how I proved I hadn't slept with her and that she had drugged me.  Xia had tears running down her face she laughed so hard.  "Good job, you cut yourself and bleed on your shirt so they could test the blood" she says then laughs some more.

"I can't believe you told them they could swab your little man as you didn't shower.  Too prove that you hadn't slept with her" she splutters "it was the only thing I could think of that would prove we had done nothing.  I couldn't believe she'd think it was just a matter of walking out of the bathroom wearing a bathrobe and I'd believe we'd slept together?" I say shaking my head at the memory.

"What happened to her?" she asks "my mother was actually thinking marriage was a good idea between us until she learnt of the drugs.  Then she told her and her father that she would end them if they even thought of looking in my direction again" I explain

I turn onto the smaller road that leads to our destination and look at the clear sky.  "It really is a great day" I state agreeing with her earlier statement.

"Why does this feel familiar?" she says looking around as we pull into a driveway.  I park up and open Xia door for her helping her out the car.  "Such a gentleman, I'll get use to that if you're not careful" she jokes.

"You bring out my protective side" I joke back making her laugh.  "So this place?" she wonders looking around.  "Is the one place that I can call mine.  I bought it after saving up for it and then restored it myself" I tell her

"I love getting my hands dirty and bringing things back to life" she says looking at the two story house and the gardens surrounding it.  "It use to be an old cotton mill" I tell her

"I remember meeting a little fairy here, when I was younger" I add and she looks at me "a meeting that left a lasting impression.  Are you hoping she'll come back?" she asks smiling

"I don't know about that.  I just have a good memory of the place and when I found it was for sale, decided to buy it" I shrug "well it's in a great spot and the building its self was well built.  Looking at the stone used it must be local.  I like the fact that even though you've added modern windows you've kept the original style" she praises me.
