"HI MOM, DAD." Ruckus lazily greeted, giving his dad, Vonn, a tap on his shoulder and a hug to his mother, Aleandra.

The two are the couple that saved and adopted him and his twin— Kronack, from the dangerous life in the street when they were a child when their biological crackhead parents abandoned them.

"Oh, son, I'm so happy to see you here. Have a seat, join us for our breakfast." Mom stood up and went to take a plate for him.

Naupo naman sa kaharap na upuan ng ama niya si Ruckus.

"How are you, son?" Dad asked, not giving him a glance while reading something on his tablet.

Ruckus sighed. "Fine, Dad. My team just wrapped up another case related to the illegal transaction of firearms run by a politician."

"Do you want to have the next?"

Umiling si Ruckus. "No, Dad. I have to look at the Crown's electronics and my friends also have plans for the next two weeks."

"All right," Dad nodded.

"Here son, eat. You look stressed and sorry for the word— ugly."

Ruckus smiled. "No worries Mom, my ego is not at all graze. Being young is stressful but well, it's better than being old and stressed too." Ruckus cleared his throat. "Excuse the diss," he added smirking.

Dad glared at him so did Mom and it made Ruckus chuckle.

"Come on parents, have some young nerves and take a joke," Ruckus said, still chuckling.

"You don't make fun of our age, son. I can still make you crumble to the ground." May babala na saad ni Dad na sinagot lang ni Ruckus ng mayabang na ngiti.

Mom rolled her eyes. "Do not send me off Ruckus when it's still early in the morning. I might marry you off—"

"Hahaha," Ruckus flatly laughed. "Try harder to scare me, Mom."

Naupo ang ina niya matapos lagyan ng pagkain ang plato niya saka binigyan siya ng matamis na ngiti. Ngiti na dapat ay hindi pinagkakatiwalaan.

Geez... Here we go again.

"How about we transfer the woman to a prison cell above ground, outside the island together with a bunch of other criminals inside a small hot cell?"

Ruckus stilled. His face hardened and his heart was drumming inside his chest. Not only because his parent knew something but he is also angry at the idea for no reason at all.

Fuck it!

"What woman mom?" He acted nonchalant and lost, eyes looking back at his mother.

"Don't act like you don't know what we are talking about here, son. You look like a fool before our eyes," Dad said, tone serious.

Damn!

With a tightening jaw, Ruckus looked at his dad. "It's not like I'm doing something wrong."

"How long before you do one?" Mom was challenging.

"What are you two implying?" he asked, getting vexed.

"Son, we are making a point that someday you might do something stupid because of that woman. Come on, there are other women you can be interested in—"

"Are you telling me I like that bitch underground?" Putol ni Ruckus sa ina niya. "That is the most ludicrous thing you have ever said, Mom." His voice comes out dark and hard.

"Ruckus, watch your tone." Matigas na wika ng ama niya habang masama ang tingin sa kanya.

Mom took her fork and knife, unbothered at all. "I can accept whoever you fall in love with Ruckus just don't be it, someone, as vile as the persons in our underground cells."
