"DEATH!"
"Yeah, Mom?"
"Stay here, okay?" She said and ruffled the child's hair. "I'll just go buy us some canned and other quick food to eat that does not need a chef."
"Why bother? We can try and cook again," Death answered lazily, stepping outside his room.
Sunset rolled her eyes. "No, Death. We already tried a few times but we just ended up throwing the food because it tasted horrible. Besides we've been eating eggs every day because that's what you master cooking. I have enough. Soon you'll look like an egg to me," she kidded, chuckling.
Ngumuso ito. "Why do you suck at cooking Mom." May reklamo na wika nito.
Shrugging her shoulders, Sunset walked beside Death to head downstairs. "I was not allowed to cook growing up. The one who rules the house was afraid I might poison him." Nonchalantly she replied.
"That explains," he grumbled, yawning.
"A-huh."
"When is Dad coming home? Why did you even tell the delivery to stop delivering food when we can't cook, Mom?"
"In two days, Ruck will be home. And the food was too expensive, Death. It costs Ruckus a minimum of three thousand a day for the food. That's too much," she explained.
"I'll wait here then," anito.
"Okay," she replied, taking the car key that Ruckus left for her in case she wanted to go out or Death wanted to. "I'll be back before you know it."
"Be safe."
When Sunset opened the door going to the garage, she could only cluck her tongue from astonishment and awe again seeing all the luxury cars and motorbikes that Ruckus owns.
Mon chéri and his love for cars and motorbikes. She inwardly thought, smiling.
"Damn, Ruck... I better take care of this one or I'll be in debt if I crash this."
It sucks that she doesn't know how to cook, especially when Ruckus' house is full of stocks. She really has to ask that guy Kleeve to teach her how to cook.
Perks of living in a place where the rich dominates. Tsk.
Sunset planned to drive straight home but when she saw an ice cream parlor she remembered Death craving the one he had eaten before he got sick, so she stopped to buy it.
She was about to hop inside the car after putting one gallon of ice cream in the back seat when she saw a woman wearing a cocktail black dress walking on the sidewalk.
Sunset couldn't believe her eyes. She blinked a few times to ensure she was not imagining things, but no...
It's her...
