Chapter 36

TULALA SI Sunset habang nakaupo sa sahig ng Crown's hospital sa Quezon.

Her mind couldn't still wrap up the things that just happened hours ago. She doesn't even have the strength nor the desire to move and take a bath and change her clothes. She's still in her clothes with blood stains from Ruckus and Death.

To see Death ad Ruckus bleeding and she couldn't even do a thing is mentally breaking her and her heart bleeds just thinking about losing them.

Bakit gano'n, kung kailan nararamdaman niya na, na nabibilang siya, na mahal niya na ang sarili niya, na may tatanggap sa kanya sa kabila ng mga maling disisyon niya sa buhay at pagkamakasarili niya ay doon pa iyon mawawasak at kukunin sa kanya.

Is it too much to have the things she wanted for so long— love, family, affection, and a man that could show her that not every Adam is alike— cruel and selfish? Are her sins too much she doesn't deserve to have any of the things she badly wants to have? To experience...

Napayuko si Sunset nang muling tumulo ang luha niya. She can't bear to lose Death. She knew Ruckus will be fine but to lose Death?.. It is... It is making her see the days to come so dark and sad. Hindi niya alam kung makakaya niya bang manatili sa tabi ni Ruckus na hindi ito nasasaktan habang unti-unti siyang bumibigay.

A love of a man could only hold her to breath for a while but she doesn't believe it will be enough to hold her long enough for her to recover from her loss if ever her brother dies. Especially when she's in the process of picking up her shattered life. Ruckus's love could only give her the assurance and comfort that there will be someone who will stay with her and bury her if she chooses to die but it will never be enough to fill the hole his brother will left.

Death is not only a brother to her. He was her child ever since. She was her mom since the day he was born. Death is hers. Her son, her child, and her brother all at the same time. To lose him is like losing half of her again. Nang mahiwalay ito kumapit siya sa buhay dahil alam niyang buhay ito pero ngayon... Paano kung mawala ito?

Yeah, there is Sunrise but how could she hold on to her sister when she couldn't drag her to the life she has? Sunrise does not remember her and is fragile right now. 

Really, right now she only have Ruckus. Si Ruckus lang ang nagpapagaan sa pakiramdam niya. Ang isipin na makakaligtas ito ay siyan nagbibigay ng konting pag-asa sa kanya na magiging maayos rin ang lahat. Na may masasandalan siya habang hinihintay kung magiging maayos ba si Death.

Pinahid niya ang luha at hindi nagtaas ng mukha nang may lumapit sa kanya saka yumukyok sa harapan niya.

"I'm glad you're safe. I'm sure my brother will be fine and so is Death. That child is one tough kid he'll be fine under my friends' care. So don't beat yourself up. Come on, we have prepared the recovery room with an adjacent guest room, you can take a bath there and Aloha also bought you clothes."

It was Kronack who spoke. 

Slowly, Sunset lifted her head looking at the same face she love to stare but just this one she doesn't feel anything. It's the same face but not the person she fell in love with. There were not that grey sharp eyes that hide mischief. Not her grinning mon chéri.

Nagbuga ito ng hangin saka inilahad ang kamay nito. "I haven't formally introduced myself and the last meeting we had was bad, to say the least. I'm Kronack." Pakilala nito. "And I sincerely apologize if I was hostile on the three occasions that we've met."

Sunset reached for his hand despite the blood stains on her hand. "Can you help me with something?" She asked shamelessly without giving her name. Kilala naman na siya nito.
