The city of Green Port had a small population about 2,200 people. Therefore, whenever I can I escape into the big city, A small town means everyone knows your business. and well I just can't have that. I loved my job and, protecting my people but my personal life was just that personal. Hey chief Anderson said, John Anderson had been my left hand and partner since I started here ten years ago. What's on for today Anderson? The normal complaints, kids ringing people's doorbells complaints about them on people's lawn. Sheesh! I wish people would give it a rest their just kids and having a little fun in a small town. Hey chief you're going to want to hear this we got a report of a dead body out by the lake, officer Zeus says. Officer Abraham Zeus had worked for the department for the last year he was a rookie that had a lot of heart and potential.
All right roll out in ten, alert the crime scene lab, and secure the scene I don't want any civilians contaminating evidence. By the time we arrived everything had been cornered off with yellow crime scene tape. There was a blue tarp covering the body I pulled back the tarp beneath it was a women late twenties long black hair with tan skin. Hey chief, Anderson says turning away from the lab tech. The lab tech says all the blood has been drained from her body, but they can't find the injury. Bag everything, comb the area, who called it in? Some locals walking the lake, early this morning. make sure we get their statements and then ask them to come down to the station in a couple hours and take their statements again. We spent the rest of the day gathering evidence and taking statements. We found out the girl was a local named Cassandra Portwood, lived her whole life in Green Port and now died here. I finished up paperwork it was late into the afternoon when I left my office and headed home.
This case meant over time and no escape to the city, I made my way home changed into my work-out clothes for the second time today, I had to clear my head and figure out what happened to this girl. Besides working out, the only thing that helped was getting lost and in this small town that was impossible. I ran two miles and was about to lift some weights when my work phone rang. Hello? I say. lieutenant there is a second victim, by the lake same M.O the blood was drained from the victim's body. I'm on my way Anderson, corner it off and grab all the witnesses, everyone gives a statement. I run and change my clothes, and jump on my motorcycle, I didn't want to take my car to a crime scene. Luckily the crime scene wasn't far from my house, I rolled up to the crime scene, hey lieutenant Anderson said right this way. The victim is a young girl named Angelina White she is twenty-five years old. She grew up here just like the first victim. The victim's blood was completely drained from her body, and she was left for someone to find her, almost like the killer wanted them to be found. Why go to all this trouble to kill these girls and drain their blood but leave them to be found? It's almost like he doesn't want them to stay missing, maybe to give their families peace? That was a long shot if the killer cared, they wouldn't have killed in the first place I say. We spent well into the night collecting evidence and taking statements. This just didn't make sense a small town like this being hit with two murders, we didn't have a high crime rate, and everyone knew everyone. These girls wouldn't come out into the woods with strangers, the killer had to have gained their trust somehow, or threatened them. After we combed over the area several times, I looked for Anderson. Hey Anderson let's go back to the original crime scene and take another look. You got it boss he said, but do you really think that we missed something? Anderson and I combed over that area for hours. I want to re-trace our steps we have to be sure that we didn't miss anything, maybe the two crimes will connect themselves. We spent the next two hours going over the first crime scene, and just like Anderson thought we didn't find anything. So, two girls around the same age, who look completely different, just so happen to die the same way in the town that they were born in.
