I made my way back to Green Port; the café wasn't far. I stopped at the house and changed into my uniform before making my way to the latest crime scene. Anderson, I shouted as I climbed under the caution tape. Hey chief, enjoy lunch? Didn't get to finish it, I say as I pull back the tarp covering the victim. So, what do we know, I say looking up at Anderson? Same, as the other two, bloods drained from the victim with no apparent cause. The parent's have been notified and are meeting us at the station. Good, I'm going to head back to the station and over see the questioning, run point for me here, and make sure they bag every little thing. On it chief, Anderson said as he turned his attention to another officer. I'll meet you back at the station, Chinese tonight? can't stop tradition now Anderson says. I headed back to the station the family would be there soon. I set up the room the same way as I did for Mr. and Mrs. White. Officer Domingo arrived; hey chief am I sitting in with you? No, I said looking at the file in front of me. I'm sitting in with you, Domingo's eyes grew wide. Look Domingo I would like to set you and Anderson up to handle more responsibility when I'm not here. Both of you as my second in command. I think you an Anderson would also make a great team. Chiefs thank you so much it's an honor, just let me know what you can and can't handle I say.
Just then Mr. and Mrs. Sanchez walked through the doors. Mr. and Mrs. Sanchez right this way I have set up the conference room for us to talk, I'm so very sorry about your son officer Domingo says walking them down the long hallway. Mrs. Sanchez had been crying her face was swollen and tear stained. Mr. and Mrs. Sanchez I need to ask you a few questions about your son. Did Antonio have any trouble with any of his friends, neighbors, classmates? No, he didn't have any trouble with anyone Mrs. Sanchez said. The interview went the same as the other's no problems, no new friends, nothing. I thanked The Sanchez's for their time, officer Domingo and I walked them out we still had nothing to go on. Ugh! I screamed into my file we where right back where we started with nothing. I looked over at Domingo, nice job in there, thanks chief. We went our separate ways I picked up my cell and called Anderson, the usual tonight? Yeah, I'll be back at the station when I'm done. Anderson and I had a tradition whenever we worked a big case, we would order Chinese food and stay at the station going over files and notes, of the case. I stopped at our favorite place. Hey chief, Amanda said from behind the register, late night? Yeah, Amanda another late night I say. I sure hope you catch whoever's doing this soon. My parents won't let me out of the house alone. Well, it's better to be safe than sorry I say. With that I picked up our order and headed back to the station I saw Anderson's patrol car parked in his spot; they must be done going over the crime scene. Hey Anderson, I shout; It was late so I knew not many people would be here. The night shift supervisor had already sent out assignments. Hey chief I just got back did you pick up the food, I'm starving? yeah got it right here, let's head to my office and break it all down about two hours later, I was about to pull my hair out three murders with nothing in common except the kids went to the college, and their cause of death. Maybe there's nothing here chief? Anderson said looking defeated. I'm going to have to issue a curfew till we find the killer. From 7pm to 7am, all towns folk must be in their home's, all school and extra curricular's are canceled until further notice. We can wait three weeks and re-evaluate the situation then. I hated to this to my town's people, but I had no other choice. Look chief I know you don't want to do this, but it will keep our people safe. Add to that letter Anderson, that no one should be out alone, everyone needs to travel in pair. Type it up and I'll sign it. I want this plastered everywhere by tomorrow. Anderson and I went over and noted the statements from the White's and the Sanchez's, the first girl Cassandra Portwood had lived here with her aunt after her parents died in a car crash when she was very young. Unfortunately, her aunt had passed away about two years ago, and as far as we knew Cassandra Portwood had no known living family. Before we knew it was daylight, Well let's go home and get some shut eye, Anderson don't forget-to hand those flyers over to the day shift.
The next three weeks where un-eventful nothing happened, no new cases, no new information, nothing to go on, about who could have possibly killed these kids. I decided to lift part of the curfew and let the activities take place again, but still leave the buddy system and no going out past 10pm. I thought for sure we would find something but still nothing. I needed to blow off some steam and tonight would be perfect for my escape. I grabbed my phone and dialed Anderson's number. Hey chief what's up? You got the night shift covered tonight, right? Yeah, Delgado and I are going to tag team, give her some more training. Good, I think I'm going to take tonight off, but as always you can reach me by cell. Chief you know, we've been friends, and worked together for the last ten years, how come you never tell me where you go? Because Anderson that ruins the secret now doesn't it. I hang up and pack a bag I knew I wasn't coming back tonight.
