The Phillips's house was silent throughout. The only noise that could be heard was the music playing softly in the drawing room. I put down my book, The Mystery of the Blue Train, having an instinct that something was going to happen. I twisted around facing the white lace curtains and drew them back.

"Mum" I gasped spotting hundreds of plane shaped shadows in the clouds.

Mary's head snapped up from her knitting. That was when we heard it, the air raid siren. The sound filled the air bursting everyone's eardrums.

"Get to the bunker, Alice!" Mum ordered, running up the stairs to get George. I nod and grab Dad's photograph from the mantel before heading out to the bunker.

I sat on the camp beds for bit until Mum and George rush into the bunker. I attack them with a hug.

The next day, Mary and Helen made an agreement to send their children to the countryside. We made our way through an extremely crowded Trafalgar Square, holding our suitcases in one hand and a gas mask box in the other one. Lucy suddenly stops causing me to bump into her.

"Luc."

Lucy reaches out behind her and points Alice to the giant bronze lion, causing both of the girls to stare at it intensely, until Susan's voice drags them out of their trance.

"Come on, Lucy, Alice. No time for daydreaming."

The train whistles shrieks. I was holding onto George's hand while Mum drags us through the crowd bringing us to the edge of the platform.

"My darlings take care and stick close to Susan and Peter." Mum says us after she finished pinning our names on our coats.

"Yes mum." We reply in unison.

Mary institutes a hug between her children. George lets out a sniffle as the two siblings bury their heads into Mary's neck. When they pull away from the hug, Mary turns to Peter to give him some documents.

"Peter, can you take care of these papers as well as Alice and George." She asks.

"Of course Mary." Peter agrees with the same uneasy smile he gave his own mother moments ago.

I follow George and the Pevensies' towards the carriage door, when I see out of the corner of my eye Edmund trying to get a glimpse of his mother.

"Ed," Alice says getting said boy's attention before pointing out a familiar lock of brunette hair, "There."

Edmund gives the girl a grateful look before rushing towards his mother ignoring Susan calls and giving her a tight squeeze before getting on the train with the Phillips' and his siblings.

The train lets out one finale shriek before leaving the station.
