6. Cicatrix

Rudrayani's point of view

Last thing I remember a acute pain in my back and Ranvijay's tear laden eyes. But why was he crying. I rubbed my eyes and tried to get up. The pain again made it's way. But a hand helped me to get up. I opened my eyes to see Ranvijay infront of me helping me to sit and Raksha sitting besides me. I smiled looking towards them. Seeing me waking up, Rakshu ran towards some other room, a maid followed her.

And here Ranvijay sat infront of me looking at the floor and stealing some glances at me. I tried to focus on his face. His eyes still had the tears. I didn't know why?

"Why are you crying Ranvijay? What happened? Did you also get hurt?" Now the idea of Ranvijay getting hurt made me worried and scared for real.
But Ranvijay just lifted his head and looked at me, and said, "No. I didn't get hurt." But still tears were there in his eyes. Now it really made me worried.
He was just staring at me. I asked him at a high pitch, "why are you crying Ranvijay? "
Then finally he replied looking down, " I am sorry Rudra. Because of me you got hurt. I am your only friend but I couldn't save you. I am not deserving to be your best friend. " now I know what was going inside of this prince's head.

Before I could say anything Raksha came back with a glass, full of water followed by the same maid. She came to me and offered me the water. I smiled and took the glass and said, " that's really so sweet of you my dear Rakshu.. I really was thirsty. Thanks for the water Rakshu" she just smiled at me and asked me looking worried, "Rudra di, dada is sorry. He really wanted to save you. But couldn't. You won't be angry with him and me, ...right?" Listening to that Ranvijay snapped his head towards me. Now Rakshu and Ranvijay both were eagerly waiting for my answer.
"No Rakshu I am not angry with your dada or you. Why will I be angry with him or you? Infact he helped me. He was with me all the time. And he is my best friend for life and you are my special friend for life." Rakshu smiled listening this, and again she asked, "god promise?"
I replied smiling, "god promise!"
Now that made Ranvijay relax a bit. This prince thinks so much in his intelligent brain.

Now we were again back to old ourselves. And now I was telling Rakshu, how her dada was so cool, in riding the horse and in sword fighting. Rakshu started laughing at our stories of school. And now Ranvijay also started smiling making me also happy.

Suddenly I saw babasa and maasa of Ranvijay standing with my parents. They all were smiling looking at me. Rakshu went to them running. And pulled them toward us. And made them sit in the bed besides me. Ranvijay's babasa asked me, "how are you feeling now princess? " and Ranvijay's maasa asked me stroking my hair, "do you still feel the pain my brave princess? " I smiled and replied, "I am feeling good Maharaja sa and Maharani sa, and thank you Maharaj sa for helping me." Ranvijay's babasa clasped my hands together and said, "you will call us uncle Pratap and aunty Vijaya " I smiled and nodded. I looked at my parents standing near bed. They were smiling knowingly looking at each other. I didn't know why.

In the evening when I was in a much better condition, we started to leave for our home. But Rakshu was against it.
"Rudra di, you can take my teady with you and sleep hugging him. You will not feel pain. You can take any of my toys but please stay with us na!" It broke my heart to say no to Raksha. She had those puppy eyes melting my heart. But aunty Vijaya tried convincing Rakshu, "no beta. Rudra di needs to go back to her palace. Her dadisa is waiting for her. We will go to your Rudra di's palace and meet her in the weekend." This got Rakshu convinced. And we left for our home. After reaching home, I was directly taken to my suite. And dadisa stayed by my side for whole night stroking my head till I sleep.
