The filming had a different atmosphere than before. While Jisoo still aimed her lines at Mino and struggled with his attitude and shameless skinship, she now looked at Jennie more often. And whenever she told her what to do and directed her, it made warmth pool at the pit of Jisoo's stomach.
She shouldn't feel this way but who is she kidding? She has never truly gotten over Jennie and perhaps it's time to accept that. Maybe they were never meant to be a couple, it didn't work out, the relationship they have now might suit them better.
Jisoo as a busy actress and Jennie as a busy director, a perfect fit for a casual relationship. Nothing serious, no attachment, so no one gets hurt.
"Do you want to hang out?"
Jennie's question completely contradicted Jisoo's thoughts and plans.
The raven gave her a look of disbelief and then glanced back to the bed she was sitting on.
"Normally, when you tell someone to meet you at a hotel after work, it's not to hang out..." Jisoo mumbled, profoundly confused.
"Uh..." Jennie fumbled, blushing. "We can come back later. I just you were too exhausted directly after work..."
She had a point but there's no need to "hang out", they could just rest individually.
"Do you care?" Jisoo raised a brow.
"Sure I do, I don't want you to have trouble filming tomorrow." Jennie nodded her head.
Of course it's about not ruining her drama, Jisoo expected that.
"Why do you want to hang out?" Jisoo continued interrogating suspiciously.
"Because I got two tickets to a theatre show and I know you like the actress who stars in it. I could introduce you after the play." Jennie offered with a small smile.
Jisoo felt like a broken record who keeps asking her for her intentions but she still had to do it. "Again, why?"
Jennie didn't seem fed up by her questions. She even chuckled and handed Jisoo her coat.
"Because you'd enjoy it, that's all there is to it." Jennie shrugged, insisted that Jisoo would take her coat since it's cold.
Jisoo didn't want to accept it but Jennie didn't seem like she would stop pestering her about it anytime soon, so she snatched it and marched to the door.
Jennie was taken aback and quickly walked after her. "So it's a yes?" Her hopeful tone pulled on Jisoo's heartstrings.
Jisoo nodded her head, not meeting her eyes. She was sure she heard Jennie respond with a happy sound. It really seems like she wants to be friends with her.
Then why did she leave her to give her that message? Jisoo would have understood it if Jennie preferred to stay friends.
What an idiot. Jisoo sighed. If she is really sincere with her intentions, Jisoo might just have it in her to forgive her for ghosting her. She was never one to like to keep grudges.
"Here." Jennie guided her to their seats when they arrived. It was an open air theatre, no wonder Jennie made her wear something warm.
Jennie appeared nervous beside Jisoo, she kept glancing at her every now and then and probably assumed Jisoo didn't notice her.
"If you want to say something, do it." Jisoo told her since they were waiting for the show to start anyway.
Jennie tensed. "I-I just, um, you are pretty, is all." She mumbled sheepishly.
Jisoo tilted her head, her eyes flickering to her wavering eyes and glowing pink cheeks. Is she embarrassed?
"You always loved my pretty face."
Jisoo doesn't know why but she felt like teasing her when she saw her flushed state and seeing how that made her fumbled even more, caused Jisoo's lips to twitch into a small smile.
"I love your pretty face..." Jennie pursed her lips, trying to contain a dreamy smile.
Now Jisoo was the one blushing but she quickly brushed it off and cleared her throat. "Yeah, obviously, otherwise you wouldn't want to sleep with me."
But Jennie frowned in response, just when the show started she opened her mouth and closed it again.
Jisoo ignored it and turned to the front. There she immediately saw one of her favourite actresses Yoona. And Jennie knows her? And even wants to introduce her?
Jisoo stared intensely and bit her bottom lip. Yes, she decided. She will forgive Jennie. Then the other half of her brain disagreed and told her to set her priorities, because this is not enough.
If she wants her forgiveness for the way she ended their relationship, she has to work harder. And maybe then Jisoo can forgive her. At least her brain half agreed on being open for it and be a bit less hostile towards her.
Jisoo really enjoyed this play, even Jennie giggled a few times during it. Not like Jisoo paid her a lot attention, she just happened to hear her quiet giggles and see her tiny smiles, the way her eyes sparkled-
Enough about that. Jisoo was excited and nervous as Jennie introduced them.
This seemed so familiar almost like their first date where Jisoo got them the tickets and sneaked them in to talk to her idol, now it's the other way around.
"So you are Jisoo." Yoona smiled, shaking her hand.
Jisoo almost fainted right there and then but Jennie's hand was lingering on her waist and kept her standing. It was like Jennie sensed Jisoo needed that touch to keep her conscious.
Jisoo swallowed, not daring to open her mouth until Jennie gave her waist an encouraging squeeze.
"H-Hello." Jisoo muttered. "You heard about me?"
"Jennie here talked about you quite often. She says you are talented, I'd love to have you in one of my shows, one day." Yoona said sweetly.
"Yes! That would be nice!" Jisoo said enthusiastically which made Yoona giggle and Jisoo blush.
Yoona wrote her number on a small piece of paper and handed it to Jisoo. "I have to leave now but you are free to text me, then we can talk about it."
Jisoo's mouth was wide open while Yoona left after dropping the paper in her hands.
"Told you you'd not want to miss this." Jennie teased, grinning from Jisoo's side, her hand moving to her shoulder.
Jisoo wanted to hug her but she wasn't on that term with her yet. That's why she did the next best thing that came to her mind, tear Jennie's arm from her shoulder and connect their lips.
