   ~ Chapter Two ~

(Seven years later) . . .

"LILY! IT'S ME! ARISHA!" Moonlight called, shielding her eyes from the roaring winds. "PLEASE COME OUT! MOTHER'S LOOKING FOR YOU! WE KNOW YOU'RE HERE!" Princess Olivia added, throwing her arms into the air and clearing away the storm, which, of course, gathered again, all the more proof Lily was hiding there somewhere. "GO AWAY!" A muffled voice yelled - Lily's muffled voice. Princess Olivia pointed in that direction and a little bright reddish-pink heart popped out of her fingertip and floated toward the clump of boulders. If you are confused, rewind:

Seven years ago, Princess Moonlily, daughter of Queen Crystal, was banished from the Element Continent.

She spent the next seven years on the run, using what she knew about her dark powers to get more books, and food and money. Life wasn't easy when you were on the run, but Moonlily made it work.

She wondered if her sisters, Princess Moonlight, heir of the water throne, and Princess Olivia, heir of the air throne, even thought about her anymore.

She wondered if they missed her as much as she missed them.

She wondered if they were happier without her around.

But most of all, she wondered if they even remembered her.

She's found a good cave on the outskirts of the Spell Kingdom.

She'd found a hawk with golden brown feathers and ice blue eyes, and named it Icicle.

She also found a large wolf - the leader of its pack - and named it Fang.

Icicle and Fang hunted with her and they lived easily, with no sisters trying to help too much, no aunts turning against them and banishing them, and no mothers that hated them.

She refused to give away her hiding spot, but Fang wasn't so lucky. He bounded out from behind the boulders and barked at the princesses. Moonlight yelped and jumped back. She started to take another step back and Fang snarled. Another heart popped out of Olivia's finger and landed on Fang's nose. The wolf almost immediately became agreeable and sat down. His black eyes tracked Princess Olivia's every move. "Lily's aura," Moonlight told Olivia. She faced the cliffs once again. "Moonlily Sunflame! If you don't come out, I'll go in. Via, will you please wait for me for a moment? I'll go get my sister." Olivia nodded irritably.
