Chapter IX: The Kingdom Of Noche

A lot has happened since the inauguration of The Kingdom of Noche as a sovereign state. It has been nine years since Veronica was crowned as the first monarch of Noche, and Quin and Desce as the direct councilor of the nation. 

In the nine years, the floating platform in the sky, Olympus evolved through time. Once, it was a floating stone platform in the sky- now, it was multiple times larger. Despite the thrones still made out of the same materials and still the same size with the same design, the entire premises of Olympus' floor has evolved into marble, it now also includes hidden rooms nobody could guess.

Hidden behind thick clouds, the better Olympus still oversees the entire kingdom. A few installations were added to the floating platform, such as the permanent teleporter set up by Desce behind the Tree of Death- the one who bears poison apples.

In terms of international relations, the kingdom still has stranger-type relations with the biggest nation of the East, Noche never meeting the ruler of it even once. In nine years, Noche only managed to have peaceful relations with the kingdoms of the norths and south. The far western nation of Onorato seems still to have hostile feelings towards Noche's kingdom, yet they still cannot attack as their military power was far more inferior.

To avoid casual misunderstanding between The Kingdom of Noche and Onorato, Noche himself built a long sturdy wall to separate the two, this became a natural barrier to avoid conflict. Because of the great magical energy he has consumed, he slept for two months- November and December. These two months of rest created another first called "Nividse Epor" which means "The time where the powerful one has slept."- in which in the months November and December, people are to knock on every wood they find until the New Year arrives, this symbolizes their willingness to wake Noche up.

The off-limit central land where it has been said a rampaging Enoch reside still does pose a threat within all the nations, thus- nobody even tried to colonize it.

The kingdom also adapted a national currency through "cassiere". For the fourth wall comparison, a copper cassiere values around five pesos. Ten cooper cassiere values about a single silver cassiere, and another ten silver cassiere values a single gold cassiere.

In almost a decade, the "Travelers" which Councilor Desce headed turned to an order of knights. It became the "Order of Nochian Travelers."- in which the word "traveler" has become almost synonymical with "soldier". Councilor Desce is still the grandmaster of the entire order.

The hierarchy of the travelers is simple, Noche is at the top, followed by Monarch Veronica, then the Grandmaster, Councilor Desce. It is then separated by Traveler Masters which are the rulers of different sections of the army. The Travelers are the center of national military might both internal and external, implementing laws. There are two special sections of Travelers, one is called "Immigrant Travelers" which reside in different regions of the world- with their Master, Mercius Vlad.

Even though they are renowned for their military might, a large sect of them still focuses on merchant activities and other modes of brainwork. The second special section of the organization is called "Collector Travelers", a sect where they organize a banking-like system- deposit and withdraw cash in the cassiere currency, it also accepts foreign money to cassiere conversion.

Trials among criminals are judged by the Monarch, Veronica. Punishments go from community services to exile and even the death penalty through the poison apple.

On the side of Councilor Quin, she became the head of all the kingdom's internal and external affairs. Together with the Monarch, they oversee Nochian Education Department (NED), National Health Society (NHS), National Resources Commission (NRC), and Nochian Magic and Science Research Institute (NMSRI).
