Four weeks later, they were still talking.

"What are your plans for tonight then?" He sent in the morning.

"Monday, so probably just chilling and then archery. What about you?" She fired back.

"Oh archery! That sounds super fun! You been doing it long? I don't really have any plans."

"Rip lol. I've been doing it for about 2.5 years now. I love it. Have you ever done it?"

"A tiny bit when I was younger. That would be super cool."

"Did you... want to come...?"

"Really? You would be okay with that? When and where?"

"Yeah sure thing! Know where the gym is at Massey?"

"Uh yeah, I do. Should I just meet you there?"

"Yeah that would be great. I'll meet you there at 7:45? Bring $2 for the fee lol"

"Sweet! Sounds amazing! I'll see you at 7:45!"

"So, um I invited Logan to come to archery tonight..." Safiya said to Lyra as her friend got in the car to go to archery.

"Oooooo exciting! I kinda want to meet him aye," Lyra grinned.

Safiya grinned back. "Me too! He seems really cool and I'm really enjoying talking to him!"

They chatted back and forth, before arriving at the university, starting to set up all the equipment. Targets came in, bows were taken out, the curtain was put up and arrows were found and arranged. Lyra and Safiya set up their bows while people filed in.

7:35. He should probably leave soon. He was weirdly nervous. He parked and walked up to the entrance of the gym. He had messaged her when he arrived and she had come out to meet him. There she was.

"Hey, Safiya?"

She turned around. Holy shit she was stunning. Her long wavy blonde hair was up in a high ponytail, and even though he knew she was wearing make-up he had no doubt she was stunning without it. "Hey! Logan, right?"

"Yup!" He leaned in and hugged her. She gave amazing hugs.

"Come on, we're in the activity centre," she said, turning around and walking away, "so, how was your day?"

"Yeah, nah, it was pretty chill. How about yours?" he replied.

"Yeah, mine was pretty chill too." She said. "So, this is the activity centre," she looked him up and down and he suddenly felt very self-conscious. "You look pretty strong, so we'll give you a 22. Left or right-handed?"

He blushed slightly at her compliment. "Right-handed," was his only remark.

She handed him a black bow and gestured towards an orange bag, "come on, I'll show you how to string it."

He followed her over and watched as she grabbed a large piece of what looked like stretchy cloth stuff and picked up a beautiful wooden bow.

"So, take this," he took the elastic from her, "the sleeve end goes over the bottom limb like this," she demonstrated with her own bow, "and this end goes on the other end. Thumb goes on so it doesn't slip and pull the bow up."

He pulled but didn't want to snap the thing in half! "Keep pulling, keep pulling, keep pulling! I promise you won't snap it." She said. So, he trusted her. Pulled up, and watched as she leant over, and pulled the string onto the limb of his bow. "And now, slowly let it down. Sweet! Now you have a bow!" she smiled at him. Wow. He never wanted her to stop smiling at him like that.
