Most of my reasoning will be based on the feast but first I wanna point out that Katniss Everdeen herself ships it.
True and let's be honest she’s not the most romantically experienced person ever.
After the capitol takes back the two victors thing she says “they never intended to have two victors” or something to that point.Then in catching fire,during the victory tour she’ss talking about D2 and says “Cato and Clove might have made it home if Peeta and I hadn’t” I just wanted to point that out.
Cato and Clove should have won!
Personally I think that if Katniss didn’t have so much plot armour then Cato and Clove would have won.
It would also have been a lot harder for the capitol to change the rule cause they’re from district 2.
The district that is the most loyal to them,the one that provides them all military power.
If District 2 rebelled then the other districts would follow and the rebellion would have happened quicker and would have been deadlier.
Which could mean that Cato and Clove wouldn’t even have to fight each other and wouldn’t be tortured.
Comment one: CAto allows Clove to attack Katniss.He has full trust and faith in her.He trusted her to do it.He also has shown eagerness to kill Katniss himself many times.To hand her such an important responsibility,particularly one her wanted so much himself,shows huge trust and respect for her.I know this doesn’t prove it as a ship,but it proves a connection.
It's true and even though you're right it doesn’t prove it as a ship it does show trust and trust is an important aspect of every relationship.
Comment two:Cato runs to her and stays with her after the evil killer (D11) has run away,if she has no connection he would have run away and chased him down immediately.
First off I just want to say that I LOVE the term that you used as his name is a forbidden word.
And yeah come on people if you’re overshadowing this then you just lack common sense.If you didn’t love her or care for he wouldn’t have stayed,it wouldn’t make sense for him to stay?He could easily hunt down Katniss or Thresh but he chose to stay with her.
Comment three :Katniss says Cato “begs”. From all we know about the brutal bloody Cato,begging is very OOC.Meaning he cared about her a lot,and begged her not to leave him.
True if you saw Cato you would never picture him like that but he was willing to look weak and unable to keep up the facade when he saw what happened to Clove.
If he didn’t love her he would have shrugged his shoulders and left,he wouldn’t have let down his ruthless attitude.
Suzanne Collins wrote the first book alone,with only her ideas,and Clato happened.The Movies were influenced by Gary Ross,Glato comes from him.Suzanne the creator of the series believes in Clato.
Also the movies aren’t everything,madge gives Katniss the mockingjay pin is still cannon despite the movie changing it.Why shouldn’t the same logic apply to Clato.
True Suzanne Collins wrote the books and there was Clato in the book therefore Clato is cannon and honestly I don’t even understand why Gary Ross wasted his time on Glato,it’s pointless and instead he could have added extra Clato or even just given us our precious scene!
