All of Mariah's life, she wanted to see her soulmate, not because she'll find the perfect man for her, but she wanted to see colors too

Little did she know that meeting her soulmate would not go how she pictured it.

She finally saw colors like she always wanted, but she was not so happy to see her soulmate. Mariah saw colors when she had made eye contact with a woman.

Not just any woman, Her best friend.

She finally understood why butterflies would flutter in the stomach every time Hera's name was mentioned.

Their once strong and sturdy friendship was slowly fading and the letters from Hera suddenly stopped, and Mariah understood.

Suddenly there was a letter in the mail that was from Hera

"Mariah, my dearest,

You probably already know this being one of the two of us. You're my soulmate. I jus want you to know that I love you and I want to marry you. I want to have a family with you. But I'm married to a man and being gay risks both our lives. I'd rather that I stay in a loveless marriage for you to stay alive. Maybe in another life we get the happy ending we both wanted. But for now let's not communicate. It's for our sake. I love you, I'm sorry

                  Sending best regards, Hera"

I know that we are soulmates.........and I also know that we will see each other again

at this time, this year 1700's, Hera knew that if anybody found out about their love, they would be tortured.. maybe even murdered. It was better if they had parted their ways, yet not even saying goodbye in person... the one of the most heart breaking thing anybody would ever go through.

Head cannon:
The letters were wet from Hera's tears and became completely soaked when Mariah read it.
