Avneet: "Dad, I'm going to the mall, and please, no bodyguards. I can't buy anything properly with them around."

Shivay: "But Avu..."

**Sidharat's POV:**

After we entered the meeting, I could feel Munjul and Riyaz's gazes on Avneet. For some reason, it made me angry. When they crossed their limits after the meeting, I wanted to bury them, but Avneet put Riyaz in his place. Now, knowing she's a target makes me uncomfortable, which is not like me.

I heard Avneet begging Shivay Uncle to let her go without security, and unconsciously, I said something even I didn't expect.

Sidharat: "Uncle, if you don't mind, I can go with her."

**Author's POV:**

There was another shock—the "Sidharat Singhaniya" offering to take a girl shopping of his own will. Shivay was bewildered. Even Sidharat didn't know why he said that, and Avneet was equally shocked. She had observed Sidharat enough to know this was out of character for him.Avneet: "WTH? You will go shopping with me? Please spare me the horror. I want to enjoy myself and shop, not make it feel like a boardroom meeting."

Shivay: "Sid, are you sure? I mean..."

Sidharat: "Yes, Uncle, I'm sure."

Avneet: "Dad, but—"

Shivay: "No, Avu, no discussion. You don't want bodyguards? Fine, but you have to take Sid with you, and that's final."

Avneet stomped her feet, pouted angrily, and headed toward the door.

Avneet: "I'm going home to change. If someone wants to come, they can. Otherwise, don't bother; they'd be doing me a favor." (She said in a cute, angry tone.)

As Avneet left, Shivay looked at Sidharat, raising his eyebrows. Sidharat avoided his gaze, looking everywhere but at Shivay. Despite his heartless façade, only Shivay knew Sidharat's heart was full of pain.

Shivay: "So, care to explain?"

Sidharat: "What? I'm just going with her so you won't worry about her." (He said in a casual tone.)

Shivay: "Oh, really? And what was that about her calling you a nickname and you not getting angry? Plus, you got mad when that bastard talked shit about her. Wait, are you..."

Sidharat: "Is she your daughter? No father would ask that question. And Uncle, you know that word doesn't exist in my life and never will."

Shivay: "Hmph. By the way, good luck. She'll give you a hard time." (He smirked.)

Sidharat: "Uncle, you're forgetting that I'm Sidharat. I give people a hard time; no one gives me a hard time."

Shivay: "I bet after shopping with her, you'll come running to my office."

Sidharat: "Yeah, yeah, right. Anyway, I'm going home to change. I'll head to your mansion to pick up Avneet afterwards."Shivay watched Sidharat leave, a smile playing on his lips. This unexpected twist was intriguing, to say the least.
