After three exhausting hours of shopping, they finally left the mall. Hats off to Sid's patience—or rather, hats off to Avneet's patience, because Sid had been continuously nagging her to hurry up and finish. He was visibly annoyed, but deep down, he was enjoying teasing her. Not that he'd ever admit it.

After dropping Avu home, he headed to the office. There was important work to complete—a crucial deal was on the horizon. If the deal went through, he'd be one step closer to the people who had killed his parents. The mere thought of it made his blood boil.A week had passed since Sid and Avu's last encounter, and Sid hadn't been able to stop thinking about her. He had to admit that something was captivating about her aura, something that lingered in his mind.

Right now, he was sitting in his office, thoughts of Avneet occupying his mind despite the pile of work in front of him. Damn, he had never been this lazy before.

**Sid's POV**

Why am I thinking about her? I've never found anyone so captivating, yet I can't get her out of my mind. It's been a week, and she's still there, occupying my thoughts. Suddenly, his eyes landed on the frame to his left, and his thoughts were abruptly dismissed as anger surged through him. It was his parents' picture.

He felt weak. He should be strong, without any weaknesses. So why had his mind wandered and found a weakness in his life? He had to stop this feeling and return to being his real self—the cold-hearted person who only wanted revenge.

His hands clenched into fists as he stared at the photo. He couldn't afford distractions, especially not now. The image of his parents burned into his mind, reminding him of his purpose. He couldn't allow himself to be swayed by emotions, not when he was so close to avenging their deaths.

With a deep breath, he forced himself to focus. He had to bury these feelings and harden his heart once more. Avneet was a distraction, and distractions could be fatal. He had to remember who he was and what he was fighting for.

Sid pushed the thoughts of Avneet aside, determined to suppress the weakness that had started to creep into his heart. He had a mission, and nothing—not even the memory of her captivating presence—would divert him from his path of vengeance.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Jai entered to inform Sid that the Oberois had arrived for the meeting. Sid mentally cursed his fate. Seriously? He wanted to avoid Avneet, and now she was here. With a curt nod, he headed towards the meeting room with Jai.As soon as he entered, the entire room fell silent, his dark aura commanding attention. Without glancing around, he walked straight to his chair and signalled for the meeting to begin. Avneet rose from her seat and walked to the front of the room, standing in front of the projector. As she made eye contact with Siddharth, a mix of complicated emotions surged through him—frustration, annoyance, and an undeniable pull he couldn't shake off.

**Sid's POV**

Great. Just what I needed. Why does she have to be here? Can't catch a break. He forced himself to keep his expression neutral, not letting anyone see the turmoil inside.

She stood there with such confidence, her presence demanding attention. His frustration grew. Why did she have this effect on him? He needed to focus on the deal, not on her. He felt the tension in his shoulders, the grip on his pen tightening.

As Avneet began her presentation, his eyes involuntarily followed her every move. The way she spoke, the way she carried herself—it was infuriatingly captivating. He wanted to hate her for it, but all he felt was this maddening attraction that he couldn't ignore.

His jaw clenched as he tried to push these thoughts aside. This was not the time or place for such distractions. He needed to stay cold, to stay focused. The memory of his parents' faces flashed in his mind, reminding him of his purpose. He couldn't let Avneet become a vulnerability, a distraction from his goal.

And yet, as she glanced at him again, he couldn't deny the flicker of something deeper, something that complicated his resolve. It made him feel weak, and he hated that. He had to bury these feelings, lock them away where they couldn't interfere with his plans.

But as the meeting went on, he found it increasingly difficult to ignore the storm of emotions swirling inside him. Frustration gnawed at him, mingling with a grudging admiration for her poise and intelligence. She was a distraction he couldn't afford, but she was also a puzzle he couldn't resist.

Siddharth forced himself to focus on the task at hand, his gaze hardening. He would not let her derail him. Not now, not ever. He was here for one reason, and he would see it through, no matter the cost. Avneet was just another obstacle in his path, one he would overcome with the same ruthless determination he applied to everything else in his life.

His thoughts were abruptly dismissed as he heard her calling his name. He looked up and saw her looking at him with something he couldn't quite explain—maybe hesitation? As he glanced around the table, every eye was on him.

"Sid: I approve the idea," he said, his voice steady.

Everyone in the room seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. He noticed Avneet's face light up with a brief, unguarded smile before she quickly masked it with her professional demeanour. Damn, she looked hot, especially in that white dress.

**Sid's POV**

What is it about her? She calls my name and suddenly I'm jolted back to reality. Her expression—was that hesitation? Confusion gnawed at him. What does she have to be hesitant about?

He forced himself to focus on the meeting, but he couldn't help but steal glances at her. That fleeting smile—so genuine, so unlike her usual composed self—had stirred something inside him. His admiration for her intelligence and poise was undeniable, but he hated that he noticed how stunning she looked, and how the white dress accentuated her beauty.

This is ridiculous. Why am I even thinking about this? She's just the daughter of shivay uncle. Yet, there was no denying the way his heart had skipped a beat when she smiled. He tried to convince himself it was just a momentary lapse, a fleeting distraction.

But damn, it was hard to maintain his cold facade when she was around. Her presence was magnetic, drawing him in despite his best efforts to remain indifferent. He admired her professionalism, her capability, but he didn't want to admit that there was something more—something that made it difficult to look away.He forced his gaze back to the table, focusing on the deal. This is what matters. Revenge. The mission. Not her. But even as he repeated the mantra in his mind, he knew it was a struggle. She was a distraction he couldn't afford, yet he couldn't seem to deny the pull she had on him.No, he had to stay strong. He had to remain the cold-hearted person driven by revenge. He couldn't let himself be swayed by these confusing feelings, he couldn't shake off the admiration and the unsettling awareness of her presence. It was a battle between his resolve and the undeniable attraction he felt—a battle he was determined to win, no matter how difficult she made it.
