Chapter 4: The Magic Knights

Y/N was whimpering, 'What's going on? I don't know what to do. I never expected to be chosen for more than one squad. What should I do? Which squad do I pick?' Y/N stuttered, "I'll, uh, join..." Asta yelled, "Come join me Y/N. It'll be great." Yuno interjected, "No, he'll join the Golden Dawn with me. It'll be better for him." Asta growled, "He'll join with me." Yuno said, "No, with me." The two of them glared at each other. The captains stared at the argument happening before them. Fuegoleon said, "Well, this is interesting." Nozel glared at the three boys, "What vulgar commoners." Charlotte said, "As to be expected of men." However, she was thinking, 'Oh my god. He's got two men fighting over him. Is this one of those yaoi harem situations. How did he even get two guys to like him? What did he do? Can I do the same with Yami?' Yami stood up, "Shut up you idiots and let the other idiot choose his squad!!!" The three of them flinched. Y/N bowed, "I'm very sorry sir." Yami jumped down to them, "I'll make this easy for you. You'll be joining the Black Bulls with the short idiot. By the way, you ain't got a choice." 

Y/N was shocked, "Uh, understood sir." Asta cheered, "Yahoo. Y/N's joining with me." Yuno huffed, "Whatever." Asta pointed at him, "Don't act like you're not upset by that." Yuno just turned away. Asta yelled, "Don't you walk away from me!" Y/N grabbed Asta's sleeve, "Uh, Asta. We need to get out of the way." Asta blushed as he saw Y/N grabbing him, "Uh, sure." The two of them moved to the side as the rest of the candidates were called up. 

Y/N looked around for Yami. He planned on meeting the captain and wait for Asta, who had needed to go to the bathroom. Y/N suddenly felt himself being grabbed from behind, "Where are you going?" Y/N turned to see Yami, "Oh, hello sir. I was just looking for you. Um, Asta had to go to the bathroom, but he'll be here shortly. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Y/N from Hage Village in the Forsaken Realm. It's nice to meet you. I hope that we'll get along." Yami frowned, "Sheesh kid. You're acting all formal and we just met. Stop being so stiff. It's not a job for some fancy company or something. Just act casual." Y/N said, "But this is how I act casually." Yami let out a sigh and continued smoking his cigarette. 

After a few minutes, Asta returned from the bathroom. Yami got angry at him for taking so long. The spatial mage that had come with Yami, Finral, opened a portal for them to go through. Y/N walked through after Asta was tossed in. Yami and Finral followed shortly. Y/N looked ahead and saw an old building in the clearing of the forest. Yami said, "Welcome to the Black Bull's base." Y/N followed Asta as he entered the building. He introduced himself, but he was ignored. Yami entered and smashed the wall to get the other member's attention. Asta gave his introduction again, "Hello, I'm Asta from Hage Village. I'm a member of the Black Bulls starting now!" Y/N said, "Um, I'm Y/N, also from Hage Village. I just joined. I hope that we'll get along well."

Once they finished their introductions, Finral began introducing the two of them to the other Black Bulls member. They began clamoring around the new members. Magna said, "So, you think you've got what it takes to be a member of the Black Bulls, huh? So I guess that means that you want one of these." He pointed to his Magic Knight robe. Asta got excited, "I sure do. Give me." Magna chuckled, "Fine. But you've got to earn it. It's time for your baptism."

The members of the Black Bulls went outside. Magna explained the rules of the baptism and got ready. Y/N said, "Uh, this isn't a baptism." Magna turned to him, "Oh yeah. And who are you to tell me what a baptism is?" Y/N said, "Someone who was raised in an actual church. I've seen actual baptisms done by actual priests." Magna blushed in embarrassment, "Well, I'm still calling it a baptism. Now, get ready Asta." Magna unleashed a fast fire spell as Asta took out his anti-magic sword. Just as the attack was about to hit, Asta turned the sword to its side and reflected the attack back at Magna. Y/N cried out in surprise. Magna emerged, surprised that Asta reflected the attack. The other Black Bulls got excited. Magna pointed to Y/N, "Alright Mr. Right. Time for your baptism." 

Y/N watched as Magna prepared to attack him, "Uh, is it really okay for you to be moving around after you took an attack like that?" Magna laughed, "That's nothing for a Black Bull. Now here goes." He threw the same spell at Y/N. He took out his grimoire and used a spell, "Ice Magic: Frozen Storm." Immediately, a storm of ice came from behind him and snuffed out the Flame spell. However, Magna was also within the spells range and ended up being frozen. The other Black Bulls were surprised. Y/N snapped his fingers and freed Magna, who was shivering. The Black Bulls crowded around Y/N. Magna gave Asta and Y/N their own Black Bulls robes. Y/N quickly put his on. Asta was smiling as he put his on. Vanessa used her magic to add the Black Bulls' symbol on Asta's headband. Yami said, "Welcome. Now you're both officially members of the Black Bulls."
