Chapter 5: The Royal

Y/N stopped to catch his breathe as he chased after Magna and Asta. After the two of them completed their baptism, Magna had taken them out for a tour of the base. Y/N was able to keep up for the first few minutes, but quickly lost them. He continued walking when he bumped into someone. Y/N stumbled back and looked to see who he had bumped into. It was a girl around his age with silver hair and purple eyes. She seemed angry for some reason. Y/N bowed, "Uh, my apologies. I didn't see you coming. I am sorry for having bumped into you." The girl glared at him, "Oh, you're the other insect that joined." Y/N was surprised by her comment, "Uh, insect?" The girl huffed, "Of course. I am a royal and you commoners are just insects compared to me." Y/N thought for a moment, "I see. I suppose I can understand why you think that. But, even insects can be dangerous to those on top of the food chain." The girl seemed surprise by his response. She threw her hair back and walked away.

Y/N watched as she left, "I wonder who that was. She didn't seem like a member, so what was she doing her?" "Y/N!!" He turned to see Asta tackle him into a hug. Asta hugged him so tightly, he could feel his ribs start to crack. Y/N said, "Asta, you're hurting me." His friend understood and released him, "Oh, sorry Y/N. I was just worried about you. Me and Magna lost you a while back and I've been looking for you." Y/N said, "I'm fine Asta. Don't worry." Asta blushed slightly and yelled, "Alright!! From now on, I'll never leave your side Y/N!!!! It's a promise." Y/N smiled uncertainly, "Uh, that's nice Asta. By the way, did you run into a silver haired girl? I bumped into her just now." Asta said, "Yeah. I think she said her name was Noelle Silva or something like that. She was really mean. Plus, she tried to attack me, but hit Magna instead. And she didn't even apologize for it. Anyways, Magna said that he'll show us to our rooms now. Let's go." He grabbed Y/N's hand and dragged him to Magna. Y/M was in thought, 'So she missed her target? Huh, could she have trouble controlling her magic?'

Asta was excited when he saw that he had his own room. Magna chuckled at how silly he was acting and turned to Y/N, "Anyways, your room is to the right of his. Make sure to clean it up." Asta cheered, "Alright!! We're room neighbors now, Y/N!" Y/N smiled, "Yep. Now we can make sure to take care of each other, just like when we were kids." Asta smiled brightly.

Y/N entered his room and looked around. It was a bit dirty and didn't look like anyone had cleaned it in sometime. However, that wasn't a problem. Y/N had been cleaning the church since he was young and knew exactly how to make the room look clean. He grabbed a bucket of water and some rags and started cleaning. From the room next door, he could here Asta yelling in excitement as he cleaned his own room. Y/N smiled to himself and got to work. After an hour of cleaning and washing, the room looked brand new. Y/N also made sure to use some herbs to freshen the smell of the bed linens so that they wouldn't stink.

Y/N woke up with a start. He had been fast asleep in his new room when he suddenly sensed a strong surge of mana running rouge. He got out of bed and got dressed. He rushed outside to see that the others were already standing around and watching the water magic run wild. Y/N walked up to Finral and asked, "Um, excuse me, Mr. Finral? What's going on?" Finral turned to him with a shocked expression. Y/N was worried, "Oh, did I say something to offend you?" Finral shook his head, "No, it's just...It's been a while since anyone's treated me with respect. I think I might cry a little." Y/N was shocked, 'How bad do these people treat him? I better make sure to respect him properly from now on.' Finral cleared his throat, "As for what's happening, well, it seems that Noelle' magic is running wild and she's drowning in her own water. If any of us try to attack the magic, we might end up hurting her." Yami said, "Yeah. If only we had a guy that could negate magic." 

Suddenly, Y/N heard Asta yell and come hurling down into Yami's hand. Yami grabbed him, "Perfect timing. Do something about that." Asta looked at the large mass of water, "I can't do anything about that." Yami glared at him, "Hey, when I say to do something, you do it, got it? Push past your limits." He then threw Asta at the water. Asta took out his anti-magic sword and slashed the water, causing the spell to disperse. Noelle was freed, but the two of them were falling. Y/N gasped, but saw Finral open his grimoire to open them a portal. Y/N let out a sigh of relief. He walked to where Noelle and Asta were and saw that several of the Black Bulls were praising Noelle for her amazing magic and saying that it was alright that she couldn't control it. Asta saw him and waved him over. Asta turned to Noelle, "Oh, this is my best friend, Y/N. He's always a big help to me whenever I'm having trouble with stuff. He can probably help you too." Noelle gasped as she recognized him. Y/N smiled softly, "I look forward to working with you, Lady Noelle." Noelle blushed in embarrassment, "Uh, I look forward to working with you too, Y/N."
