Prologue

"Run..."

"Jiu Jiu no we can't do that!" Jin Ling protests while staring intensely at Jiang Cheng.

"Sect Leader Jiang we can't leave you and mother alone" Sizhui agrees not wanting to leave the adults.

"Listen to him and go back all three of you!" Wei Ying says aware of the danger that is headed their way. A few seconds after seeing the juniors still reluctant to the area Wei Ying lifts his flute to his mouth and plays a tune which brings the Ghost General out. "We're not leaving! Please mother let us stay and fight by your side..." Sizhui pleads but it goes to avail. "Wen Ning get them away from here... Lan Zhan will be on his way here so tell him our location when you see him..." Wei Ying stops thinking. "Take them all to Cloud Recess it's the closest" After saying this to the Wen Ning picks all three boys up and takes starts running.

"Now let's take care of this thing any idea what it is?" Jiang Cheng questions while looking around with his Zidian in his hand. However, to Jiang Cheng's dismay, Wei Ying shakes his head. "Its energy is quite strong... too strong from any other creature or beast I've ever encountered... its energy is everywhere almost as if it's more than one..." Wayin sees his brother struggling to describe what he was feeling and just hummed.

Although after Wei Ying came back his relationship with Jiang Cheng was not like before they did manage to fix a lot of it. And it would have been quicker if Lan Wangji wasn't that protective over his husband. However, Jiang Cheng didn't blame him. He did kill him so it was only natural that Lan Wangji didn't trust him quickly.

"Did you see that!" Wei Ying yells suddenly. Jiang Cheng's eyes dart around trying to catch what the other saw. "I don't see anythi-" he doesn't get to finish his sentence as they both get surrounded by a thick of smoke. "What the hell is going on?" Zidian glows brighter illuminating purple light on the smoke. "Jiang Cheng the resentful energy I felt is so strong now! I think it's this smoke!" Jiang Wayin grits his teeth hard anger boiling inside of him as well as worry. "Anyway to get out of this?" Cheng questions. Wei Ying cautiously walks towards it and as soon as he tries to pass an electric wave shoots through him as if he has been hit by the Zidian but weaker. "I got you..." Jiang Cheng helps him. "Y-yeah thanks"

~With Lan Wangji~

The moonlight shone on the evergreen forest as a man dressed in white clad ran through it. His long forehead ribbon fluttered behind him gracefully as his piercing golden eyes focused on what was ahead of him. It was not too long before he saw a figure carrying three junior disciples who were very much struggling to free themselves. Lan Wangji stopped and so did the Ghost General. "Lan-gongzi young master Wei and sect leader Jiang are in trouble... Wei-gongzi told me to take these young masters to Cloud Recess... I think the situation is very serious." Wen Ning explains. "Father! Father, please let us come with you! There was strong amount of resentful energy!" Hearing about the resentful energy Lan Wangji gave a silent command to Wen Ning to continue taking the juniors back. If Wei Ying has sent them back then it is definitely not something for the juniors.

"It's closing in even more!" Wei Ying panicked. Zidian had long before turned back to a ring and almost every method they tried to escape failed. "What is this smoke anyway it's definitely weakening us" Wei Wuxian nods in agreement. "Huh! Wait Why don't I try using my talismans!" If not been stuck Jiang Cheng would have most likely hit his brother. "Well then do something!" he yells. Wei Ying quickly draws two talismans throwing them towards the smoke only to face disappointment as the talisman just dissolves. "Ugh! Why!" Xian yells frustrated while thanking the gods the juniors aren't here.

Suddenly Jiang Cheng falls to his knees breathing hard. "Jiang Cheng! What wrong?" It doesn't take him long to figure out they are somehow running out of oxygen to breathe. "No No No No hang in there!" And without thinking he again draws out two talismans which then double and uses a great amount of energy to activate them without thinking. A bright light spreads around them making them see only white. "Wei Yi-" Jiang Cheng falls to the ground unconscious.

Jiang Cheng opens his eyes looking around to familiarises himself with his surround though it doesn't take him as he finds himself back at Lotus Pier in Wei Ying's room.

Wei Wuxian's Old Room...
