"Defect from the Wen Sect!"

"What..." Wen Qing says taken back by Wei Wuxian's demand. "Why should I listen to you? I don't even know you..."

"I-" Jiang Cheng tried to speak but was interrupted.

"That doesn't matter right now! What matters is that you will die if you stay in that sect!" Wen Qing turned around. She stole a quick glance at her brother who had a worried expression on his face. She knew that Wei Wuxian was right but she also knew that there wasn't any way for her just to leave the Wen Sect.

"Please..."

"A-Xian... why are you so desperate in wanting Lady Wen and Young Master Wen to defect from their own sect?" Yanli questioned.

But Wei Wuxian ignored her. He walked towards Wen Qing and turned her to face him. "Please... I'm begging you... defect..." Wen Qing saw the desperateness Wei Ying had in his eyes.

"Even if I wanted young master Wei I wouldn't be able to do it... so I suggest you stop asking me. Make sure to rest for two days... and drink lots of water... we are here for three more days then A-
Ning and I are going to be heading back to Nightless City..." After saying that Wen Qing left with her brother.

| Jiang Cheng's POV |

"ARRGGHH!" Wei Wuxian shouted in frustration.

"Calm your ass down..." I groaned it was probably past midnight and I really didn't want to be here. "What did you expect? That you tell her to defect from her sect and she will listen without any reason."

Wei Wuxian started arguing, how if I had helped she would have listened.

"If only you had helped A-Cheng she would have at least considered!"

"Wei Wuxian! It wouldn't have made any difference! If you were in her place would you have just agreed to leave!" I argued.

"Yes! Knowing nothing is ever good in that sect, yes I would have left that hell of a place..." I want to say more but Lan Wangji beats me to it. And I'm glad he does.

"Wei Ying, think with a clear mind... and we won't let them meet the same fate again I promise you... We'll save them hm..." he says calmly.

"But what if we can't? What if this is the only chance for them to be saved? What if-"

"For god sake A-Ying! I know why you're desperate to get her away from them but she's already ther-" I start to say but get interrupted.

"Why is A-Xian so desperate to get Lady Wen away from her Sect?" JieJie says but there's seriousness in her voice. "A-Cheng I had asked before and you had come up with an excuse but this time I ask- no... I demand you to tell me what's going on... I'm worried... for both of you."

Wei Wuxian sighs. "ShiJie you won't understand-"

"Then make me understand A-Xian! Stop hiding things from me... You both used to tell me very little thing that bother you but now..." I cast my eyes towards the floor. We made her worried and that's something I never want to make her.

"ShiJie you-" A-Ying tries again.

"Do you trust me, my dear Xianxian?" Wei Wuxian nods. "Then tell me. This ShiJie of yours will lock your secrets in her heart with you being the only key... however, if there is even an ounce of doubt in your heart regarding my loyalty to you then don't say a word. I would still love you the same but know that if you or A-Cheng ever need someone to rely on or have a shoulder to cry on... I'm here for you always."

Silence fills the room as we watch JieJie standing there with a calm expression. Should we tell her?

"Young Madien Jiang... please meet us tomorrow in the Jingshi... you will get all your answers there. Let's go Wei Ying it's nearly nine..." Well if he is going to tell JieJie, he might as well let some more know about it.

sigh

Tomorrow is going to be a long day...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sun was almost up and I hadn't slept a wink. although the decision of telling the JieJie and others about us seemed okay at that time... I'm starting to question if it's really right to tell them. The What if questions came flooding back.

What if something happened?

What if instead of good changes something even worse happened?

What if someone told someone else about it?

What if our enemies found out somehow?

Ok... deep breaths... We'll be fine...

.

.

.

.

.

.

We're definitely not fine!

Who invited that peacock and that old man and where the hell is Lan Wangji?! I looked around to find Wei Wuxian and Nie Huaisang emerged in a conversation, The peacock was looking around trying to distract himself while sneaking glances at my sister, Lan Qiren was having a "lovely" conversation with my sister and I was silently judging all of them...

//With Lan Wangji\\

I walked through a calm area beside my brother until we saw a small house. As we neared it, my brother looked at me.

"Are you sure Wangji?"

"We need to make Father realise that it's not his fault and that we need him," I say looking at the closed door. I see my brother smile before walking towards the house and knocking. Soon the door opens, and a very attractive-looking man comes into our sight. I realise how my facial features closely match his. Seeing the man before me, I feel a warmth spread over my chest. I don't need any evidence telling me that the man in front of me is my father because it's quite visible in his tearful eyes that show nothing but love and a bit of regret and guilt.

"My So-sons?" the man said trying not to let the tears fall but failed miserably. Both my brother and I nodded.

"May we come in?" Huan-ge asks.

We enter the small house and everything is kept in its place. Everything is neat and tidy. I look over at the table in the middle of the room and see a book and a few scrolls lying on it—a quilt that has been dipped in ink and a cup that looks warm. As we all sat down I got straight to the point.

"It's not your fault and we want you to come back and take the responsibility of being a sect leader and we love you," I said.

My brother and father stared at me in shock.

Did I say too much?
