At 6 am my alarm went off, and as usual, it was a rush to get ready for school. I was aching from training last night but brushed it off. I quickly rushed through the motions for school and stuffed breakfast down my throat. Once I was packed, I said goodbye to everyone and left. Whilst walking to the bus stop I saw the 601 bus going past so I sprinted to catch it. Thankfully, the bus driver was nice and waited for me. If it wasn't for that kind action, I would probably have been late for school.

I got on the bus and tapped my bus card, before taking a seat towards the back of the bus near the window. Finally, some peace. As I relaxed into my seat, I pulled out my phone and plugged my earphones in playing my usual playlist. I checked my Snapchat and my messages and talked to my friends and family.

As we approached the school, I pulled my earphones out and put my phone away. I pressed the stop button, got off the bus, and walked around the corner to the school. Once I arrived, I put my bag in my locker and took out my laptop, diary, books, and pencil case before proceeding on to the library to meet with my friends, where we met up every morning to escape the whacky winter weather.

When I got up there, Lyss was already there on her laptop waiting for me. I got to our table and we greeted each other with a hug. We talked about today's classes and the latest in the news. We also played some Minecraft and looked at photos of celebrities online whilst gossipping.

"Hey guys!" said a familiar voice. It was Ally. And she had her bangs out today! They really suited her, so I told her bringing a smile to her face. The three of us sat together chatting, keeping the conversation to small talk. Then we were interrupted by a high-pitched squeal.

"Oh my gosh. Erin! Tell me all about last night, I need to know everything!" she yelped. Ugh, Elle, we're in a bloody library. Not that boy talk would stop her though.

"Keep it down bro! We'll get in trouble," I reminded her. She mouthed an apology to me and sat down opposite me before I started the story. I recounted all the training we did and the new techniques I learned.

"No silly, she wants to know about Alex! Not football training," said Ally. I rolled my eyes.

"Well, he's got these beautiful green eyes that are to die for! And he's tall, like really tall. I think he's 6 foot. He also has fluffy brown hair that really makes me want to run my hand through it. He's really kind too, he helped me carry the ball bags," I told them.

"So do you like him?" asked Lyss. This was something that was gnawing my mind. Was it a crush? Or do I think I'm madly in love with him? It was still an early stage and I was still somewhat unsure of my feelings. He was nice and kind, and cute - a whole package.

The day went on as usual up until maths. Elle was crying; she was absolutely distraught. I took a timeout from class and went to talk to her about it in the bathroom. I asked her what was wrong and she spilled it like a coffee stain.

"I-It's Bailey," she began, "He- he got a- a mullet! And I hate it! Ugh, I'm depressed," she whined. Oh my gosh seriously, crying over a boy?

"Elle, stop. Stop crying over a boy. You don't need him. Who cares if he's ugly now, the important thing is that you stay beautiful. There will be other boys - ones without mullets. And yes, I feel your pain; mullets are ugly!" I reassured her.

I calmed her down and we returned to math class. Our goofy friend Elise was there and helped us through the work. Afterward, we went to lunch and sat at our usual spot in the sunshine. We met with Ally and Lyss, who had already started a debate about Tom Holland vs Louis Partridge. Personally, I didn't mind, but I knew that Elle would have a big opinion on this.

I eventually ended the conversation which only led to Lyss bringing up Alex. Ally suggested I get his number, but then it would seem like I was asking him out! It was too soon, I thought.

"So, when will you see him again?" asked Ally. I told them Thursday, and they were very excited about that. Lyss suggested that I get my hair done just to impress him, but I thought that it was too over the top.

I had my next class with Lyss so we walked together to the F Building. We talked about Alex, but also dating in general. Neither of us had ever dated a boy, so we shared our hypothesizes and fantasies about guys. The bell went as we were walking to class so we sprinted to get there on time. We had just made it before the teacher was marking the roll so we weren't late. The class went by very quickly.

I took the bus home with Ally, and we mostly just took embarrassing pictures of each other and sent them to our friends.

"Alex, huh? I could see you guys as a couple," she said.

I gave her a confused look. "You've never even met him, Ally," I replied.

"That doesn't matter, Erin. I can tell by the way that you talk about him that you guys are meant to be. It's so damn obvious," she argued. She kind of has a point. But, what if he doesn't like me back? What happens next? It would be a little bit awkward if I told him I liked him and he didn't like me back.

I pondered what dating him would be like, but realized yet again that I was getting ahead of myself. Oh, Alex, you're going to give me a heart attack...
