Gilbert had dropped into the shop a couple times in the past week, asking Matthew how he was liking the tattoo. Matthew complained a bit about how sore his arm was, but said that he did enjoy having it. It did pair well with the old looking lillie tattoo his father had on his back. Gilbert was glad to hear that Matthew enjoyed his new tattoo, and told him if he wanted more, he would be happy to do the job. Matthew thanked him, saying he would keep that in mind.

On a particular day, Gilbert's shop was closed for the day, while Matthew's was open, so Gilbert stopped by to chat. He walked in to see Matthew lounging at the front desk, looking at some new seed packets he had purchased with a smile. Gilbert walked over and took a seat on the counter. Matthew jumped and put a hand over his heart, telling Gilbert not to do that. The German just laughed and looked over Matthew. "So.. what's the deal? You kinda give me girly vibes."

Matthew blushed heavily and glared at the albino. "I would usually say it's none of your business, but I don't want to be called 'Girly' again, so if you must know I'm trans. I'm not taking testosterone or anything, but I did get top surgery." Matthew unbuttoned his shirt, looking up as he pulled open his shirt to reveal the scars. Gilbert looked away and apologised. "No, it's fine. A lot of people just sort of assume it anyway."

Gilbert nodded slowly and decided he was too embarrassed to keep on this conversation. So he found a new topic to talk about. "Hey, we should get lunch together." Gilbert suggested. Matthew rose a brow. "Oh come on! Is it such a sin to want to get to know my neighbour better?" Matthew shrugged and looked up at the clock. It was getting around that time, he supposed.

"I guess so.." he said quietly as he picked up his ringing phone on the desk. It was a short lived conversation after writing a couple of things down and then Matthew looked over at Gilbert again. "I have someone coming to pick up an order at noon. Then you can take me out I guess.." Gilbert lit up and said a quick thank you before excusing himself to change out of sweatpants and a tee shirt. Matthew shook his head with a small chuckle. What was so special about going out to lunch? Plus it was a really hot day. Matthew had air conditioning in his shop, that's the only reason he could stand to wear a long sleeve shirt. If he were to go out he would need to put a tank top on. He didn't really want to do that. But he supposed he had to.

After giving his client their order and putting a "out to lunch" sign on his front door and locking it, Matthew went upstairs and opened his door. Francis looked over and asked him what he was doing. Matthew explained that it was getting too warm out and he wanted to change his shirt so he could go and grab something for lunch. Francis nodded and turned his attention back to watering  some plants in their window. Matthew hated when it got hot like this. It was pretty much February at this point.

After getting a tank top on and putting on a more breathable pair of jeans, Matthew left the flat again. He pulled a hair tie off of his wrist, pulling all of his curly hair up into a tight ponytail, or at least what he could with his bangs. He went down the steps to be met with Gilbert waiting outside his door, now wearing a tank top as well, tucked into a pair of black jeans with a belt. There were contrasts to their outfits. Gilbert's tank was white. Matthew's was faded blue. Gilbert's jeans were black. Matthew's were white. It showed just how different they were, in Matthew's opinion.

The two of them walked down the street, chatting about their shops. There wasn't much else they could talk about, unless it was Francis, although Matthew didn't enjoy talking about his father too much. Of course soon they found a common interest in pets. Matthew talking about the interest but not the will, and Gilbert saying he grew up with a lot of dogs, though now he had a bird.

Soon the two arrived at a small sandwich shop down the street. They both knew it was here but had never gone in before, so maybe it would be a good place to eat. They walked inside and were greeted by a lady saying hello from the counter while making someone's order. Matthew looked around the place. It was a really nice, homey feeling, and smelled fantastic. There were a couple of booths on the other side of the shop, while a kind of making station was across from it. The lady finished up and called Matthew and Gilbert over.
