I stood up as Hoseok hurried over to me and was surprised when he pulled me in for a hug, wrapping his arms around me tightly. "I can't believe you're here. You're real. You're my soulmate. You really are." He pulled back for a moment, studying my face then hugged me again.
Shocked by his vulnerability, I returned the hug, feeling a wave of peace settle over me at the simple fact I was in my soulmate's arms. Lost in the moment, I moved back when I heard an awkward cough behind me. I turned to see the rest of BTS watching us with knowing smiles on their faces.
Refusing to let go of my hand, Hoseok tugged me over to the couch I had been seated on with Ho-sung and sat down, pulling me down next to him. "I'm sorry," he apologized. "I didn't even catch your name." He looked down at our intertwined hands, an embarrassed smile on his face.
"It's okay." I squeezed his hand then introduced myself, telling him a little about me. He sat there, his attention on me as I spoke, his thumb rubbing the top of my hand. It was reassuring to know that my soulmate, as well known as he was, seemed to be okay with the whole situation, happy even.
Namjoon came over to me, dragging a chair over and sat down, automatically getting into leader mode, clearly wanting to know his member was in good hands. "I'm Kim Namjoon. It's nice to meet you." He held out a hand for me to shake and I took it, the same sound of surprise escaping my lips when a red string appeared then vanished just as quickly leaving behind a red tattoo, right next to my green one that belong to Hoseok.
I looked down at my hand, unable to believe what was happening, the look of surprise on my face mirroring the ones on both Namjoon's and Hoseok's. "Does... this.... are you my soulmate too?"
Nodding his head, while staring at his finger, Namjoon seemed to be in shock. Hoseok looked down at my hand and although he looked just as stunned, I was surprised to see there was no disappointment or jealousy in his eyes. "You have two soulmates?" Hoseok looked at my face then touched my cheek gently. "Are you okay?"
The other members rushed over to us, not quite believing what was happening. Seokjin leaned over to inspect my hand, his fingers brushing across mine as he did. The string, a bright sunshine yellow, appeared instantly, wrapping around Seokjin's and my fingers, leaving behind a matching tattoo of the same color.
The surprise on Seokjin's face was almost amusing. His mouth dropped open and his eyebrows shot almost up to his hairline. "This... is this real?" His words were soft as he looked at me then his hand then back at my face, his eyes shimmering with unshed tears. I knew Seokjin was turning 30 next year so he had probably been anxious to find his soulmate.
The room was filled with silence as our gazes went back and forth between the four fingers. Jungkook was the first one to speak up. "Is... is it possible she is soulmate to all of us?" I didn't miss the hopeful look in his eyes as he asked the question.
Jimin sat down next to me suddenly. "There's only one way to find out." Without warning, he took my hand and we both watched in fascination as the blue string appeared. Jimin grinned as the string vanished, leaving behind a blue tattoo on his finger. "Looks like she is mine."
Jungkook went to step forward, but Namjoon held up a hand to stop him. "Hold on. Let's give her a moment to breathe. She came here not expecting to find her soulmate and now all of a sudden she has four, possibly even more."
Giving Namjoon a reassuring smile, I nodded my head. "It's... it's okay. I understand why they want to know. I'm... I'm curious too." Although the thought of having seven soulmates was a little overwhelming, I couldn't help but be curious if Jungkook was correct. However, the next question to fill my mind: Would they be disappointed? I'm sure when they imagined finding their soulmates, it wasn't all seven of them having the same one. Shaking my head, I dispelled the thought. Having three or four soulmates wasn't too rare, but anything more than that was almost unheard of. So the chance of the other three being my soulmates too? Probably not very likely.
Kneeling in front of me, Jungkook slowly reached for my hand. When the purple string appeared, his handsome face lit up in a bright smile and he pulled me in for a hug. "I knew. I knew you were my soulmate when I saw you at the concert last night. I could feel it."
Stunned by his words, I gave him a confused smile. "W-what?"
Jungkook hugged me tighter. "At the Muster last night. You had on a bright yellow shirt and black overalls. I knew you were my soulmate. I could feel it from the stage."
Jimin nodded his head. "I could feel it too, but I didn't want to say anything. It's why I kept coming over to the area where you were."
Soulmates sensing the other's presence was more common for males than females so I wasn't surprised that I hadn't noticed the feeling. However, knowing they did and were happy about the situation made me feel so much better about it all.
Taehyung and Yoongi both moved in front of me and within moments, I had two more tattoos on my finger: one a bright orange that matched Taehyung's and the other a stark black that was identical to Yoongi's. They both had the same happy smiles on their faces that everyone else did and when they took seats near me, I couldn't help but return the smile.
I turned to Hoseok, who had been quiet the whole time. He reached out for my hand, giving me a reassuring smile. "How are you doing with all of this?" His question was quiet as he stroked my hand, the soft tender touch soothing and gentle.
"Um... I'm not exactly sure. I definitely did not expect this." Although they were all smiling, I knew the question had to be asked. "How... how do you all feel about having the same soulmate? I'm sure... I'm sure this is not what you expected."
Seokjin shook his head and my spirits dropped. "Wait... don't get me wrong. It isn't what I expected, but I'm definitely not upset about it. The idea of sharing a soulmate with my brothers makes me happier than I would have expected. We are always so busy, but this way... our absences may not seem as terrible since you'll usually have one of us with you."
Seokjin's explanation made sense and I could see the others nodding in agreement. Taehyung reached over and patted my shoulder. "Jin hyung is right. This may not be what I expected, but I'm happy about it. I promise you."
Jimin, who was holding my other hand, gave me a grin. "Me too. If I had to share a soulmate with anyone then I'm glad it's my brothers." His sweet voice and smile help to dissolve some of my fears and he gave me a wink, a subtle sign letting me know it would be okay.
Yoongi cleared his throat. "Um... we need to contact the company. Let them know. They're going to want to release a statement." The voice of reason dulled the excitement of the moment but I knew it was necessary.
Namjoon nodded. "You're right. I'll have Manager Sejin come in here and he can tell us what the next steps are going to be." He turned to me then hesitantly reached over and ran a hand down my hair, the touch sweet and comforting. "Everything is going to be alright. I promise you."
