The first day of school finally showed up. Maddison woke Subirah at six thirty in the morning. She had learnt a few words in English by now. "Wait" she told Maddison.

Maddison smiled, "I see, you've learnt a new word!" she said. "Fine, only five minutes, because you are going to be late for school".

Five minutes were up, and Maddison went to wake Subirah, and she got up. "Go take a shower, and get dressed, you are wearing your new uniform today remember?" Maddison said, putting the uniform neatly on the corner of her bed.

Subirah didn't look too happy, and she didn't look terribly sad either, she got out of bed and went into the bathroom.

She came down the stairs and into the kitchen to have breakfast, her mother Maya was there waiting for her. "Good morning, well someone's looking fresh and neat!" Maya greeted her as she pulled out a chair.

Subirah looked really neat, Maddison had done her lovely brown hair into two French braids. She had on her neat and very formal school uniform, and a pair of shiny black boots.

It was weird how she didn't complain about school this day, which made Maya start to worry.

School was simply a worry in the Greystone's house, firstly because Subirah had developed a phobia to schools after spending months at an unpleasant orphanage. So her reaction to schools isn't really the best. Secondly, because her academic performance wasn't that great either, and the school had accepted her as long as she studied in first grade.

Maya stayed strong, and tried her best to make things seem okay for Subirah, even though she wasn't exactly sure about that.

"So, what would you like today, Oreo cereal?" she asked pointing at the cereal.

Subirah nodded. Maddison splashed some milk over Subirah's dry Oreo cereal, and Subirah started munching.

"Okay, Subirah hurry, we're going to be late, munch faster, and oops! wipe that chocolate moustache you have their!" said Jace, looking at his watch and then at Subirah.

"Oh, I see someone enjoyed their hot-cocoa!" added Maya, smiling at Subirah, she smiled back.

"Wait, one more thing!" Maya told Jace as Subirah was heading out of the door, Luna her kitten purring as if to say, "I will miss you".

"No, I'm sorry she's going to be late for her first day! we have to go now" said Jace.

"No, wait, it's only her first day, I'm sure it won't make much difference" said Maya looking in the cupboard of the guestroom.

"Well, I'm going to be late for work, I have two business meetings today, and I still have to drop Subirah off, no why now? what is it anyway, we are seriously getting late!" grumbled Jace.

"Fine, don't get so mad, it's fine, here it is, you can go now" said Maya handing Jace a fluffy pink backpack, with a bright pink flamingo in the top right corner.

"At least tell me it's her backpack!" said Jace hurrying out of the door with the backpack, Subirah's head could be seen looking out of the window of the Bentley.

"GO, go, go! don't wait for me to put my leg in! just go and don't' forget to break all speed limits, we have no time, I'll pay for the fine, just be careful we don't want to start our day with a not-so-welcome accident, open your eyes, and your mind too, and we should be all right!" said Jace putting his leg in the car and slamming the door shut.

"Here's your backpack, it has your books and all sorts of things!" said jace handing the backpack to Subirah. Subirah felt relieved, the backpack was pretty, and now it sounded like she was going to actual school, what are the chases of her being sent to an orphanage again, with this pretty formal uniform and cute backpack, with actual books in, almost none!
