The next day
When I got home the night before, Em wasn't home. Not that I'm surprised, but I'm getting a bit tired of always being home alone. I look at the clock. 9am. Today is one of my days off this week, which is great. But I've literally got nothing planned. I pick up my phone and dial my friend Paige's number. She lives in the US so it's evening for her right now. She picks up immediately and says,
"How is it possible you didn't say you were working with Stray Kids?!"
I laugh. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I completely forgot to mention it."
Paige is one of my few friends that I'm still in touch with from my kpop fangirl days. Paige is the one friend I have who was as into Stray Kids as I was. Well, I think she was a bigger fan than I was but ya know. It's not a competition? I should've known she'd find out that I was on set and I should've known that she'd be annoyed. Though, I think she'd kind of joking.
"Did you see-" she begins and then she stops.
"Yes" I say and laugh. "I did see Chan, and yes, he is just as beautiful in real life"
She sighs. "I knew it"
I laugh and say "Ey, get it together. When are you coming to visit?"
Paige has been planning to come visit me for a long time, together with another one of our friends. But it's fallen through every time due to either their job or mine coming in the way.
"Maaaybe next month?" She says and I smile.
"Ah, so July?"
"Right, it's the end of May now, duh! But yeah July! I have 4 weeks off so maybe I can come visit then."
I check my calendar and tell her the situation. I contemplate telling her about the Han situation. She knows I'm friends with Changbin, and that almost gave her a heart attack to learn. I wonder how she'd react if I told her... if I told her what? That I have a crush on Han? Oh she knows. She knew before I did I think. There's really nothing to tell. Just small moments I keep replaying in my head. Me and Paige make a preliminary plan for when she can come visit and I hope it doesn't fall through again. After we hang up, I check the time again. 10am. God. Time moves slow.
An hour later, I've cleaned the entire apartment. Yeah. That's what happens when you're bored. I've also bugged Wooyoung with about 5 messages. Not that he's replied yet, but he's at practice so I didn't expect any messages back either. I pick up my phone and dial Em's number. For once, she picks up. Hooray!
"Wow, I'm surprised" I say, and I realize how annoyed I sound. I really don't mean to but I guess I feel neglected as a friend. She's so busy with Jaebum I barely see her. And then her work is insanely busy and hectic too.
"I'm on a break right now" she says sternly. "What's with the attitude?"
I roll my eyes. "Ugh, I just feel lonely."
"So, call Woo!"
I laugh. "He's busy!"
"Ah, of course. I'm at set"
My ears perk up. "Oh! Is it THE set?"
"Yep" Em is being very subtle but oh I know exactly what set it is. She's been nervous about a music video shoot for about a month. Why? Oh because it's a group that's close to her heart. And one that consists of nine extremely good looking men.
"Ohhh.. how's it going?"
"I'm tense. To say the least. Hey, are you busy?"
"No, clearly not" I say and laugh.
