Warning, swearing!

"I just want to know why someone up there in charge of relationships hates me." Lee moaned to Faye as they walked back to the hotel. They had time off this afternoon and while the other three had gone shopping Faye and Lee had gone to a fairground together, which had already won them a fair few teasing comments from Lisa and H. Sadly the fairground hadn't been as cool as it had looked when they'd driven past it last night and was definitely designed for wimps. It had merry-go-rounds and dodgems and waltzers and spinning teacups and to be fair the other three would have really enjoyed it if they'd come as well, but no they'd thought the pop-up rollercoasters, that were tame and actually quite boring, might be too scary.
"They don't, you just haven't found the right girl yet." Faye replied. "Oh or guy." She teased, nudging him gently.
"I'm not gay, apparently contrary to popular belief right now!" He was so often asked if he was gay and he really didn't know why. Admittedly H wasn't 'out' about his sexuality, but he fitted a fair few more stereotypes for a gay man than Lee anyway. But for some reason it was always Lee who got the sexuality question. Maybe because he was surrounded by three very pretty girls and hadn't appeared like he was dating any of them, unlike H who made a regular point of messing with the media with either Claire or Lisa acting like his 'girlfriend'. That's not to say Lee was distant from the girls, in fact he was anything but distant - he was the big brother they could tell their problems and boy troubles to and they'd often come to him when they were in tears for hugs and hot drinks - but he didn't go about holding their hands. Equally, Lee and Faye often did things together, but generally they did it more in private, like at fairgrounds in foreign countries or in the pub rather than generally on the streets of cities like H.
Faye giggled. "You sure?"
"Very."
Faye grabbed his arm and dragged him into the lift that was already waiting because she really couldn't be bothered to walk up the stairs. She pressed the button for their floor and grinned at him.
"I mean I don't get it, there must be so many girls in love with you surely?" She asked.
"A few, but I don't want to date some crazy almost fan Fuf." Lee told her as the lift started to move.
"The right person will come one day." She said, before jokingly taking hold of his hand.
"What are you trying to imply?" He asked with a laugh.
She shrugged. "Just wanted to hold your hand." She was about to say something more when the light went off the lift stopped. "Fuck." She squealed, grabbing onto his arm.
"Okay is it the dark you're scared of?" Lee asked as she pressed herself up against him. He'd been guessing at her fears for the last few weeks because she was scared of a few different things but refused to tell the others most of them worried someone, probably H, would start teasing her.
She nodded. "That and the fact we're stuck in a lift." She replied shakily.
"It'll be fine. There's probably a powercut or something." He assured her.
"Aw yeah that makes it better." She said with a roll of her eyes he couldn't see.
"We'll be fine." Lee told her gently as he slipped his arm round her.
Faye didn't feel reassured, but refused to tell Lee that. She also refused to let him know she was crying, the only slight give away her heavier breathing. Instead, she carried on hugging his arm as he hugged her back. He didn't mind her being like that, secretly treasuring the moment and hoping it was one he could hold on to forever. He knew Faye liked hugs and that, within reason, she'd hug anyone that came near her if she was having a really huggy day. He'd watched her hug Lisa or Claire enough times when she was scared or having a bad day, and to be fair he'd received his fair share of Faye hugs too.

When it became apparent they might be stuck in the dark lift for a little while, Lee released Faye for a moment, putting his hand in his pocket and rummaging around to find a little novelty torch, the kind that people attach to keyrings, and turned it on. It wasn't too bright, but it provided enough light that they were able to see each other. He glanced at Faye, slightly shimmering lines running down her face and sighed. For some reason he hadn't expected his extremely emotional bandmate, the one he'd once seen crying over a very cute fluffy but sick lamb on TV, to be crying, which seemed a bit stupid in hindsight.
"Alright Faye breathe." He whispered, more in hope it was soothing than because he was worried someone would overhear.
She nodded and looked at him hopelessly. "Do you think we'll die?" She asked quietly. She kept picturing situations that she knew were unlikely, but now they were haunting her and she wanted reassurance that they weren't likely to become real. "Like what if the lift falls or something?"
Lee shook his head, before kissing her forehead without really thinking it through. "It won't, that kind of thing only happens in movies okay. We'll be alright, I'm sure we'll be able to get out in a bit."
A smile had crept onto her face, he guessed at the kiss rather than about the comment. "What was that?" She asked.
"A... well... a kiss." He stuttered.
"Yes but why?"
"You're fucking terrified, and I wanted to take your mind off it for a while. It's just us, no-one will know."
She let him go and sat herself in the corner of the lift, her head against the mirrored wall next to her, but the thought of how gross lifts can sometimes be made her quickly move it again. "I... We... ugh... this... we know this can't happen."
"I just wanted to make you feel better." He replied, attempting to sit down next to her. She groaned and got up, biting her lip as she edged her way cautiously to the other side of the lift, just in case the movement could make it fall down like it sometimes did on TV. Lee sighed, setting the torch down so the light reflected off the mirror behind them and lit the lift up a little better. He didn't know what best to say to make the situation better, so for once neither of them said anything.
