I was walking and looking around, following the guy ahead who seemed determined to go solo—as if he wouldn’t need our help if he ended up being the first to encounter whatever was in this forest.
Then, suddenly, a scream broke the silence.
"Ahhhhh!!!!"
I turned around and realized the blonde-haired girl was gone.
My heart pounded in my chest. My mind raced—where could she have gone? Should I call out? Would that attract something worse?
The next moment, the black-haired guy came running back and asked what had happened.
"The girl—she's gone. She was right behind me, and then suddenly, she screamed," I told him.
"Let's split up. You go right, and I'll go left," he said before heading in his direction, leaving me to take the right path.
I walked, searching everywhere, but eventually, we ran into each other again.
"I can’t find her. She might’ve already been eaten by whatever’s lurking here," he said casually.
"Do you even care about her?" I asked, irritated.
"Why should I? It’s not like she means anything to me," he replied, sitting down and leaning against a tree.
"If you hadn’t been so set on going off alone, no one would have gotten separated from us," I argued.
"Oh, so now it’s my fault?" he shot back, glaring at me.
"It is your fault. You’re selfish. She’s a girl!" I snapped.
He stood up and walked toward me.
"My fault? Didn’t I tell you not to follow me? And what did you guys do? You followed anyway. And now, you're blaming me? You’re unbelievable," he said angrily.
"You think you can survive on your own? You’ll need our help eventually. Teamwork, bro. We’re all lost in this place," I told him.
"Tsk." He clicked his tongue before sitting back down.
Suddenly, another scream echoed through the trees. Without hesitation, I ran toward the sound.

A strong hand grabbed my shoulder and yanked me away with incredible force. Before I knew it, I was being dragged into towering trees loomed over me, their twisted branches forming eerie shapes against the dim glow of a mysterious light in the distance. The air smelled of damp earth and decaying leaves.
I turned to face my captor—he was dressed entirely in black.
Was he a murderer? He wasn’t an animal or some wild beast, but that didn’t mean I wasn’t scared.
"You..." he muttered, pointing at me.

I wasn’t sure where the scream had come from. The girl didn’t scream again, but I kept searching, hoping I’d find her. Then, in the distance, I spotted a faint glow.
Carefully, I approached, hiding behind a nearby tree. I saw the girl tied up, leaning against another tree, and a man standing in front of her.
I quickly grabbed a wooden stick from a pile of fallen branches. Just as I was about to strike, someone else hit the man first.
I turned and saw the black-haired guy. He wasted no time running up to the girl and untying her hands.

"What do you want? Please don’t hurt me!" I pleaded, tears threatening to fall.
"Huh? Wait a second," he said before removing his mask.
"Maybe I looked too suspicious with that on," he muttered, shaking out his light-red hair. He stepped closer, his dark silhouette blending with the shadows. My breath hitched as he reached for his mask. My fingers curled into fists, ready to fight—or at least try—when suddenly, he pulled it off, revealing…
Seeing his face, my fear started to fade.
"You’re the guy the fox was chasing earlier, aren’t you?" I asked.
"Huh? How do you know that?" he asked in surprise.
"I saw it happen. I’m sorry I didn’t help—I was scared too," I admitted.
"Ah, don’t worry about it. At least I got away. Anyway, I’m Mickey. Are you lost here too? Because I definitely am. I just remember going to sleep, and then the next thing I knew, I woke up in the middle of this forest," he explained.
"Yeah, same here. I’m Christine," I replied.
"You have companions, right? Two guys? I’ve been following you all since earlier, but I couldn’t find the right time to approach. When I finally got the chance, I could only grab you because it’d be too risky to take all three of you at once. You were at the back, so I pulled you in," he explained.
"Looks like we’re all in the same situation—just randomly appearing here," I said.
"By the way, did I hurt you when I pulled you earlier? Sorry about that," he asked.
"Oh, no. You’re just really strong," I answered.
"Not really—you’re just light," he said with a smile.
I smiled back, but before I could say anything else, something suddenly struck Mickey on the head. He collapsed onto the ground, unconscious.
The black-haired guy walked up to me and untied my hands.
"Are you okay? Did this guy hurt you?" the brown-haired guy asked.
"What should we do with him?" the black-haired guy asked.
"No! Wait!" I shouted, stopping them.
They looked at me in confusion.
"He’s not a bad person," I told them.
"Then why did he tie you up? Why did he take you away alone?" the black-haired guy questioned.
And so, I explained everything Mickey had told me.
"Wait… So, he’s the one from earlier? The guy being chased by the fox?" the brown-haired guy asked, and I nodded.
"What happened to the fox? Did he kill it?" the black-haired guy asked.
