CHAPTER SEVEN:
ᴜɴsᴘᴏᴋᴇɴ ᴛʀᴜᴛʜs
╬╬═════════════╬╬

It's been a while since I last posted on my Hello Account. Feeling nostalgic, I took a selfie with Mallow. A few moments later, I got a new follower, so I checked it out. The username was Smiley._.Mickey. I followed back immediately, and since I had one message, I quickly checked hello message.

Smiley._.Mickey added NattyNathan to the group.
Smiley._.Mickey added you to the group.
Smiley._.Mickey added FordSantiago to the group.

Mickey
I'm glad I found your accounts easily.

How are you doing, Nathan and Christine? Has your fever gone down?

Christine
Thanks to all of you, especially Ford. I don’t have a fever anymore.

Ford
No problem.

Nathan
I don’t know.

Mickey
What do you mean you don’t know, Nathan?

Nathan
Because I don’t know.

Mickey
Tsk… Anyway, guys, I have a suggestion—only if you're okay with it.

Christine
What is it?

Ford
Hmm?

Mickey
Let's all stay in one house until all of this stops happening to us.

Ford
Whose house?

Nathan
Huh?

Mickey
I don’t know. Whose place is available?

Ford
Christine, can we stay at yours?
My place is too small and messy.

Christine
Sure, that’s fine. When are you moving in?

Mickey
Now, hehe.

Ford
But I haven’t packed yet.

Mickey
Then pack up now. I’ll wait for you at the park. Christine, send your location.

Christine
Okay.

Before they arrived, I cleaned up and prepared the two spare rooms, which were supposed to be for my parents. Since they’re not here, those rooms will be theirs for now.

---

30 MINUTES LATER

They finally arrived.

Mickey was the first to step inside, his smile wide.

"Wowww… You're rich!"

"Whoa… This is amazing," Ford said, also smiling. Nathan, on the other hand, just looked around, but for the first time, he was smiling. He should smile more often—it makes him even more handsome.

"Are you living here alone?" Mickey asked. I nodded.

"No way! Your house is huge, and you're all by yourself?" Mickey said in disbelief.

"Where’s your family?" Ford asked.

I stayed quiet, and after a few moments, he spoke again.

"They're gone, aren’t they?"

"They vanished without a trace. Every night, I wonder if they’re still out there, alive and thinking of me. It’s been three years since they left. They said they’d come back, but they never did—not even a single message or call," I explained.

"My dad just left us," Ford said. "He promised to take responsibility for my mom, but he abandoned us instead. Mom passed away last year."

"I'm just lonely," Mickey added. "The person who took me in on a full moon left ten years ago. Since then, I’ve been alone."

We all turned to Nathan, expecting him to share, but he didn’t say a word.

"What about you, Nathan?" Mickey asked.

"Don't ask," Nathan replied.

"That’s unfair," Mickey pouted.

"Why should I have to share?" Nathan retorted.

"Come on, just tell us," Mickey insisted.

"It’s complicated. You wouldn’t believe me," Nathan said.

"Of course, we’d believe you! We’re friends, right? Just tell us," Mickey persisted.

Nathan stayed silent.

"Unfair," Mickey muttered, but we all heard him clearly.

"Are you guys hungry?" I asked.

"Yup!" Mickey beamed.

"Wait, I’ll go buy some food," I said, grabbing my wallet.

"By the way, there are only two available rooms, so two of you will have to share," I informed them.

"Let’s share, Ford!" Mickey clung to Ford’s arm.

As soon as Christine left, Mickey stood up.

"Tell us now, Nathan," Mickey said.

"I don’t want to," Nathan replied.

"Come on, just share," Mickey insisted, sitting beside him and clinging to his arm.

"Please?"

"I said no."

"Why not? Are you hiding something from us? I thought we were friends," Mickey said. Nathan’s expression darkened.

"Please, just tell us," Mickey continued pestering him.

But suddenly, Nathan shoved Mickey hard—so hard that he fell to the floor.

I immediately ran to help Mickey up.

Nathan's hands balled into fists, his knuckles turning white. His chest rose and fell sharply as he glared at Mickey, then stormed out of the house.

As I was about to enter, Nathan pushed the door open.

"Are you going out?" I asked.

"I just need some fresh air," he muttered and walked away.

I stepped inside and saw Ford helping Mickey.

"What happened?" I asked.

"I think my spinal cord broke," Mickey groaned dramatically.

"Huh? Why? What happened?" I asked worriedly.

"Nathan pushed him—really hard. Luckily, your wall didn’t break, and Mickey wasn’t seriously hurt," Ford explained.

So that’s why Nathan left.

"What did you do, Mickey?" I asked.

"Hehe… I just kept bugging him," Mickey said, scratching his head.

"But he didn’t have to push you that hard," Ford said, now looking frustrated.

Are they going to fight again? Sigh.

"I’m fine, Ford," Mickey reassured him, seemingly realizing the tension.

"How are you fine? You literally said your spine was broken!" Ford argued.

Mickey just let out a forced laugh and scratched his head again.
