"Until now, I still wonder-why us? I mean... out of so many people, why us?" Mickey said.

"I think there's a possibility that there's a reason, but there's also a possibility that there isn't one," Nathan replied.

After talking and getting to know each other, Mallow and I went home.

It's so strange. I'm super confused right now. Sigh

Bark!

When Mallow barked, I looked at him. He just stared at me, as if telling me not to think about it anymore. I simply smiled at him and patted his head.

"Deep sigh Are we just going to do the same thing in this dream again? Standing around, doing nothing, just waiting to return to the real world? It's so boring," Nathan complained.

Moments later, we saw a blue light moving farther away. Nathan stood up.

"Where are you going?" Mickey asked.

"Of course, I'm following that. Better than sitting here, bored," Nathan replied and started walking.

"I'm coming, too," Ford said as he stood up.

"Aren't you two coming?" Ford asked me and Mickey.

"Let's go, Christine," Mickey said, reaching out his hand to me. I took it, and after that, we followed Nathan, who was already quite far ahead. We ran to catch up to him.

Suddenly, the blue light disappeared, replaced by a red glow. I instinctively stepped back.

Out of nowhere, a red, terrifying giant with multiple hands appeared. Its many hands writhed like snakes, oozing a sickly green acid that sizzled as it hit the ground.

We all stepped back at the sight of it.

The giant released a green acid, and we quickly dodged.

"Run!" Nathan shouted before sprinting away. The three of them ran fast, leaving me behind.

The giant grabbed me, but before it could do anything, someone slashed its hand with a machete. When I looked, it was Mickey.

But because the giant had many hands, it managed to grab both Mickey and me with its remaining ones.

I was running at full speed when I turned to check if Christine and Mickey were keeping up. But when I looked back, they were gone.

"Nathan!" I called out while chasing after him.

"Mickey and Christine didn't make it! We have to go back for them!" I said.

"Forget it. They're probably eaten by now. Let's just save ourselves," Nathan replied, slowing down.

We stopped in front of a large cave. Nathan immediately sat down, catching his breath.

"Bro, we need to go back for them!" I insisted.

"Why?" he asked.

"Because they're our friends! We have to help them!" I said.

"Friends? Really?" He smirked.

"We're running out of time!" I said.

"Do whatever you want," he replied, leaning against a tree near the cave.

Since he refused, I ran back angrily to where we came from.

When I got there, I saw the monster holding them, so I threw pieces of wood at it to get its attention.

The monster dropped the two and turned toward me. I quickly ran backward, facing it so I could avoid its acid attacks.

I was about to retreat further, but I reached a dead end. I swallowed hard.

The monster let out a loud growl and opened its mouth wide.

I thought that was the end of me-until Mickey called out to the monster and shot an arrow at it.

Since the arrow wasn't enough to take it down, I joined in and threw rocks. Christine also helped until the monster finally fell.

As soon as it collapsed, Mickey yelled, "Run!"

Our breaths were heavy. The forest was silent for a moment-as if it, too, was waiting for our next move. And then... we ran.

I turned to Christine, who looked exhausted, so I grabbed her hand and pulled her along.

"Come on!" I urged as we ran as fast as we could.

When we returned, Mickey and I leaned against a tree, watching the two argue.

Then, Nathan suddenly stood up and charged at Ford.

Mickey and I quickly got up to stop them before things got out of hand.

NATHAN:
A useless friend? Smirk
Who even said I considered you guys my friends?

FORD:
Then you're just a useless companion.
If you ever find yourself in danger, we won't help you.

NATHAN:
Then don't. I don't need your help.

FORD:
Smirk Oh really? Let's see.

Now that they were done arguing, Mickey and I finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Sigh I seriously thought we were done for earlier," Mickey said.

"Thanks to Ford," I said, smiling at him. He was leaning against another tree, still looking upset.

---

As Mickey tended to the fire, I looked at the two of them. They were still holding a grudge against each other.

Nathan was lying on the ground while Ford remained leaning against the tree. I stood up and sat beside Ford.

"Thank you," I said, looking in the same direction he was staring.

I felt him glance at me.

"Sigh It's nothing," he said, expressionless.

"Just ignore Nathan. Let it go," I told him.

"He's just too selfish. He wouldn't even help when his own companions were in danger," Ford replied.

"Just let it be. Forget about it," I said, smiling at him. He looked at me and gave a forced smile back.

"Nathan, could you get more firewood? We don't have enough," Mickey asked.

Nathan didn't respond, so Mickey repeated himself. Nathan simply glanced at him before turning his gaze back to the sky.

"He can't even do something as simple as gathering wood," Ford muttered, which made Nathan glare at him.

"I'll do it, Mickey. One of our companions is just too useless," Ford said as he stood up.

Nathan immediately stood and shoved Ford before walking away.

"A walkout?" Ford smirked, but Nathan turned back to him.

"I'll do it," Nathan said before continuing to walk away.

(Nathan P.O.V)

That guy is really testing my patience. Let's see what I'll do to you when I finally lose it. Smirk
