All Techno could feel was the air rushing around him, he looked up and saw everyone's faces grow smaller. He would not die.

Techno closed his eyes, and opened his mind.

A hissing noise sounded, and everyone looked down to see Techno clinging onto Hariric's sword that was embedded in the rock.

He had not fallen.

He had refused the law of the God. This was blasphemous.

Suprised faces turned to anger as people realised what Techno had done.

Out of nowhere cries were heard: He must be sacrificed He must be sacrificed! That is the way! Large shapes had appeared out of nowhere and started to screech over the outburst from the crowd.

All faces turned as multiple Ghasts surrounded the Piglin clinging to the face of the cliff.

Techno's face was against the rock. Gripping a small spur, he pulled out his sword and turned to face the Ghasts.

The Ghasts opened their mouths and out poured a molten ball of rock, flying straight for his face. Techno was fast and blocked the attack with his sword, reflecting the blast back at the the Ghast. The fireball hit and the Ghast dissapated into wreathes of smoke. A single frozen Tear dropped into Techno's hand, glowing softly, pale and white. Techno closed his palm and slipped the gem of immense power into his pocket before anyone saw.

People gasped "The Blade!" they cried.

They had seen the sacred blade that was grasped in Techno's hand, the blade that had belonged to the High Guard of the Fortress, Hariric. That blade was for her and her alone, and it shouldn't be tainted with any Piglin hands.

Suddenly everyone came towards him, eyes hungry with violence.

"Evil" mouths whispered "Blasphemous" others said. "Traitor" and "Thief".

People had been driven mad by the lust for blood, as they had to stick to their God's wishes.  Techno began to climb quickly down.  He edged his way along the rock, until he found a small area hollowed into the cliff. On it sat a smallholding with a chest containing various items. He grapped the nearest things, a handfull of gold coins, some food, a saddle, and ran.

Hearing footsteps behind him Techno jumped down even further, until he was at the shores of the Lava Sea. Finding a group of Striders - nomadic animals that roamed the Lava Sea - he saddled one and clambered on, urging it past a rock pillar until he was out of sight.

As he moved away, he was filled with adrenalin, causing him to be rash, yelling to the rock face, "Not even close, Technoblade will never die!"

The noise echoed across the stone, rebounding until it reached the ears of the Piglins at the top of the cliff.
