Her stomach dropped in anticipation the entire way down ever so familiar roads. Her foot taps to the mats on the floor of Billie's Dodge.
She hardly pays attention to the pace of her leg jumping, for her eyes refuse to leave from the window.
Billie notices in almost an instant, looking over at her with a confused smile. "Liz, it's not like you haven't met my parents before."
"I know but it's different," She looks at her, foot still tapping. "It's been three years."
"Yeah, three years of you maturing into an adult. They'd respect that."
"Just because I don't wear scrappy band t-shirts anymore doesn't indicate that I've grown up, Billie."
"I've told them about your job."
"You did?"
"Yes." She stops her Dodge in the driveway of her family home. "And they're really proud of you. They're still going to love you as they did three years ago, okay?" Her hand meets her knee, looking at her in reassurance. "So stop worrying."
