Chapter 8- A New Ability

IVY'S P.O.V.

After having some breakfast, Robert and I head outside into his front yard to try out my new abilities.

Robert sits down on the grass, watching me with a big smile on his face.

"Alright Ivy, let's see what you've got.", Robert says.

I nod, and head over to a tree that's at the far right of his front yard.

I focus on the tree.

'Alright Ivy, let's see what new abilities you've got.', I think.

I close my eyes, calming myself as I focus on building up my strength, and then quickly open my eyes, slashing my tail at the tree, sending a deep gash into the bark of the tree.

The leaves on the tree branches shake from my attack, with a few even falling off from it.

Robert claps his hands, very impressed with me.

I turn around to face him, and smile.

"That was amazing Ivy! Although, I don't think my Mom will be too thrilled about that big gash in her tree.", Robert says.

I look back at the tree, then back at Robert, now worried.

"Don't worry about it too much Ivy.", he says.

I nod, but I'm still a little worried that Robert might get in trouble because of what I just did to his mother's tree.

"Maybe we could go practice your new abilities on something else.", Robert suggests.

I nod in agreement, and he nods back.

I hurry over to him, and climb up onto his left shoulder.

He smiles at me, and I smile back at him.
