ROBERT'S P.O.V.

We've finally made it to Ryme City!

Well, almost.

We're actually still on the road, trying to find the hotel my Mom booked us to stay at for the week.

I look through the passenger side window, staring in awe at all of the pretty lights on the many different buildings of this busy intersection.

"Look at all of those lights! It's SO cool!", I say, not actually speaking to my Mom or Ivy, but rather just saying out loud what I'm thinking.

"Ryme City is very pretty at night because of these lights.", my Mom says.

"Ser! Servine!", Ivy says.

"Mom! Mom! Look over there! There's the place! It's The Detective Corporation!", I say, practically yelling from excitement.

I look over at my Mom.

"Can we stop over there first?! Please, please, please?!", I beg my Mom.

My Mom gives me a kind smile, the kind of smile she gives me whenever she's saying no, but in a kind way, rather than just being stern about it.

"Not now sweetie. Maybe tomorrow, okay?", my Mom says.

I sigh, looking down at my shoes.

"Okay...", I say, a bit disappointed that we couldn't go there today.

Ivy hops onto my lap, and looks up at me, smiling.

I smile back at her, and rub her head.

She purrs happily from me rubbing her head, and she curls up in my lap.

"Once we find our hotel, I want you to get some shuteye. Okay?", my Mom says.

"Okay Mom.", I say.

I look at the clock that's right above the radio dials, and realize that it's almost 9:00PM.

"Geez! How long were we stuck in that traffic jam for?!", I ask, once again just thinking out loud.

"We were stuck in that traffic jam for about forty minutes.", my Mom says.

"It sure didn't feel that long.", I say.

My Mom chuckles.

"That's because you were mostly distracted.", my Mom says.

"Oh.", I say.

My Mom stops at a red light, and rubs her tired eyes.

"You okay Mom?", I ask.

My Mom nods.

"Yeah, I'm just tired.", she says with a sigh at the very beginning of her sentence.

The light turns green, and we move forward again.
