I woke up first. I had a nightmare about the zombies. In the dream they had gotten inside but I was almost paralysed and couldn't move. They started to take me to pieces. Ripping me apart with blood everywhere. Clawing at limbs and digging their fingers in the limb joints to break it away. That's when I woke up.

Looking around, no one else was awake. I glanced over to the clock it was 9:30. If we left in half an hour we might have a chance of getting there before its dark. I nudged Eli for him to wake up. His eyelids opened revelling the sharp green eyes. "Is something wrong?", he muttered. "No, but if we leave in thirty minutes we have a chance of getting a bus before dark" I explained.
"Oh, right, okay. Is it just the two bags of clothing were taking?" Eli questioned. "Well if we empty our school bags and put a load of food in each of them it'll last the day. Then we can come by here after we get the bus", I announced. "Great!"

Eli and I started awakening everyone else. When they were awake we told them the plan and we started. I emptied my bag full of jotters. About 24 hours ago these books meant if you lost them, you got into trouble. Now they mean nothing, pieces of paper with worthless scribbles.

I took my bag through to the kitchen and started putting some snacks in, crisps, biscuits, bread etc. Everyone did the same. When it was ten, I got my school bag and put it on my back. "So we're not taking the clothes right now?" Alexander asked. "No, we'll come back for them after", I told him. "Okay are you all ready?" I shouted throughout the house. I heard footsteps make there way to the door. 1...2..3..4...5..6..7..8..9..10

"I've got these", Jake declared. He was holding a bunch of knifes and 2 baseball bats from the shed. He handed them out, I got a bat. Wow, thanks jake love you too, I thought. Slowly and anxiously I opened the door. There was about 3 people out on the road. If you could even call them people...

I stepped out slowly signalling for them to follow. We made our way out the front garden onto the street. Creeping along the pavement. "Just attack them, and get them out the way", Scarlett suggested. "Do you want to bring attention to us?" Jake snapped. Scarlett looked down. "He's right, it'll just cause chaos", Mia agreed.

We continued to walk when we got to Summerhill Shops. There was a couple wondering about. They looked although they didn't notice, which was good. I turned round to the group and put my finger up to my lips. Signalling them to stay quiet right now.

I know if we spoke or if we made a loud noise they would come for us. We crept slower through the group of zombies.

When we finally got past them we started to move faster. I kept ahead of the group choosing carefully which paths to take. Focusing on where to go. That was until I got disturbed. A loud CLANG came from behind me. I turned round.

Mia looked down, looking guilty. A can was near her feet. Not that far away the zombies had instantly turned heads to face our way. Revealing pale, rough faces. Red, bloodshot, piercing eyes. Red covered clothing. Hair, dead and lifeless. They started to limp in our direction.

They moved towards the sound not to us. About 7 was heading in our direction. "We need to move!", Dallas stated. "Just start running towards the hospital", I instructed them. As they started to run I picked up the can. I looked around for a place to throw it. There was Dominos in the other direction of us. I aimed and sent it flying and it slammed of the Dominos window.

Almost all of them started to wonder over to to the shop. Some of them however kept hobbling towards me. Quickly I turned round and headed towards the group. When I caught up with them I turned round. The zombies were picking up speed, they weren't exactly running, but they were moving fast.
