Song: Counting Stars/Holy Grail/ Smells Like Teen Spirit
Artist: Little Mix"You's ready?" I asked while taking my last big breath. They mostly all nodded. I started with a slow jog, so if I needed to sprint at any time, I would have enough energy to do so. My heartbeat raised as I got closer to the first one. I pulled my arm back, ready for a swing. 1...2...3! Right on the head. Without stopping, I watched it fall.
I turned round to see how they were, just tired. I faced back to the front. Some of the zombies had our attention, which we didn't want of course. We were nearing the door, trying to not focus on them, but keeping them in mind.
I managed to dodge a couple but I could hear them being slaughtered behind me. We were closer, not that far. A zombie stepped out infront of my path. I readied my bat and kept jogging forward. I swung it round, it crashing into the side of the zombie. It fell to the floor.
I made a sprint to go to the door as we weren't that far. Once I got to the door I tried to open it but it wasn't working. "Janice, hurray!" Jayden ordered. "It's locked!" I snapped. He sighed. About 3 zombies was heading in our direction. Jayden seized the bat out my hand and shattered the small window at the top of the door. Jayden through the bat in through it. "Quick!" He ordered. He gave Eli a lift up to the window and she scrambled in. I helped him lift Alexander up. And the same with Mia. They were getting closer and my heartbeat raised even faster. Eli got a little boost up to the window for him to clamber in. Also the same with Dakota and Dallas. "Janice you go. Jake, help me", Jayden instructed. They lifted me up by the waist and feet and I pushed up and through the window pane.
I looked back through the window. "Come on Chantelle, quick", I shouted. "It's... It's Nathan...he's here! Look! Janice!" She squealed. I looked over. He was there. But he wasn't all there. He was a zombie, a walker, the undead. "Chantelle, please, he's gone", Jayden pleaded. The zombies drew nearer. Chantelle ignored us. She stepped towards them. "Chantelle", I snapped. "He's gone!" I shouted. The zombies were moving closer and closer to her as she stepped forward to them. "Jake, grab her!" I demanded. They both rushed over to her. They tried to drag her away, but she was determined to go to her brother.
Chantelle kept screaming, which only made the zombie situation worse. I tried to climb through the window, but I was to small. "Please just let me be with my brother", she said. Jake looked over to me and I nodded. It was either three of them, or one. Jake let go of her and so did Jayden. Jake started to walk back to the door, turning round every second. "Jayden, she wants to go", Jake told him. "Grab her! When I go, run", Jayden shouted. "No! Jayden!" I screamed. He went over to Chantelle and pushed her, sending her flying to the ground. Jake rushed over and picked her up. Jayden, however made a loud whistling noise. The zombies instantly turned their heads towards him, and started to go in their jogging pace. Jayden just stood there, waiting. "Jayden, please", I shouted. He started to whistle again. One zombie grabbed him by the arm. "Jake, quick", I whispered.
Jake lifted Chantelle up to the window and she clambered in. Jake hauled himself up and came in. I stood at the window watching Jayden. He sacrificed himself for them. The zombie who'd grabbed his arms, ripped into this arm. Screams of pain came from Jayden. If I had had a gun, I would've shot him to put him out his misery, but instead he took his knife and stabbed it into his chest. Letting out one last gasp for breath. He fell to the ground. Zombies started to crowd round him and rip flesh and guts out of him. I made the group look away, but I had to keep watching. He saved my brother and my friend. And now he's a zombies meal.
That could've been Scarlett there. Ripping humans to pieces, eating their insides. It will be Scarlett. She's one of them now. Tears started to stream down my face. We have lost two friends. "We'd better get a bus", I told them half crying. "This was my fault, and I'm so sorry", Chantelle told me crying. "Just don't speak to me! You put Jake in danger and killed Jayden. We'll need more than sorry. Personally, I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive you", I shouted. "Janice, she told them to leave her", Dallas spoke up. "What? Leave her to commit suicide?" I answered back angrily. "Let's just get a bus okay", Jake demanded. "Oh yea okay, Jayden and Scarlett just died, oh well, let's get a bus!" I replied.
"We're already practically dead. Just taking a slower path. But eventually one by one we'll all be dead", Dallas retorted.I broke down crying on floor. I felt a hand on back, someone was kneeling down beside me. "It'll be okay, stay strong and continue. That's why Jayden died, for us to keep moving", Eli whispered to me, I recognised the voice. I sat up, kneeling, and grabbed Eli into a hug.
BANG! A zombie slammed on the door beside us. "We'd better be going", Jake instructed cautiously. "Yea", I replied standing up. I wiped my eyes with my sleeve. Eli stood up too. Repeated knocking noises came from the door. I looked at the desk beside us, there was signs pointing in the direction of the garage. I pointed over to the sign. Dallas sighed and started to walk in the direction. We all followed him, cautiously. It was about a 2 minute silent wonder until we came to the hall with the buses. The hall was huge, holding around 30 buses. Beside us was a little compartment, which looked as though it had the keys in it. Eli went through to have a look.
SMASH! "What was that?" Alexander queried. "It could be the window back at the door..." Mia pointed out. If she was right... "Shit. We'll have to hurry then", I instructed. "Yea", Jake sarcastically laughed. Double-Decker... Which one... "ELI GRAB KEYS 19!" I shouted through to him. I turned to the compartment and saw Eli frantically looking for them. He bent down to grab some. He rose back up and held them above his head. "Let's go then!" Dakota snapped. Eli ran out and chucked the keys to me. Catching them, i ran in a hurry to the bus.
Everyone followed and got into the bus.
1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...
Two gone... I hopped on board and inserted the keys in and turned it on. "Jake, you might need to do this", I called over. I knew how to drive... Well kinda... But since Jake was a year older he knew more about it.He started the ignition and looked around the dash board. "Janice, someone will have to open the door. Of the garage", Dallas told me. "No it's automatic", I relieved Dallas. Jake pushed down the pedal on the bus and drove forward. I looked back in the mirror. We were just in time. They had just started to fill the hall. The whole swarm of them.
