Asia POV

The only audible sounds in the room were pencils scribbling on paper and muffled music from each students' headphones. Jazz raised her hand, "Mrs, I needa use the bathroom." The teacher nodded.

Her chair screeched against the floor as she got up and made her way to the door. She walked past me as if the chair I was sitting on was vacant. I scoffed and raised my hand, "Mrs, can I use the restroom?"

The teacher peered at the door where Jazz left, then faced me, "Go, quick." I speeded out the room and went after Jazz.

I found her leaning against the wall and window, smoking a roach.

I leaned on the space next to her, "Mane, you made these weeks feel like months for me." She stuck the joint behind her ear and began walking away, ignoring me completely.

I began following her, "Ayyo I'm tired. Youn talk to me in the house, not at school, not nowhere and is stressing me the fuck out." I sped up my pace to give me enough space to push her against the wall. She raised both her hands up and spoke playfully, "Woah."

"That's the first thing you said to me in weeks, ion like being clingy like this but you been doing the most with this ignoring shit." I said.

She tried to move again but I pushed her into the wall again and I smiled, "I been working out." She slapped my ass then grabbed it, "No wonder this been getting bigger." I choked her, causing her hand to let go. I spoke through my teeth, "You needa stop deciding how people gon' feel about you before you even give 'em a chance to." She began smirking but her eyes were cold, staring right through me. "You gon' regret this." She spoke to me threateningly. I let go of her neck.

I walked backwards and looked up at her as she took two steps towards me, "Don't forget, you're the one who agreed to this babygirl." She spoke tauntingly. I didn't want to hear the truth, but she was telling it. As I was thinking about what she said, the lunch bell rang. The hallways began packing. My eyebrows were furrowed as I watched Jazz walk away. She's right. My stupid ass agreed to her terms, not realizing that she meant every word of it.

"Asia!" I snapped out of my thoughts and turned around, looking for the source of the voice. Ashanti walked up to me, "Girl I been calling your name for mad long, and you were just standing there. You good?"

I scratched my eyes and nodded, "Yea, yeah I'm straight." She grabbed my arm so I wouldn't lose her and began cutting through the crowd, "Alright then, if you good you can eat lunch with me." I pushed her hand off my arm, "Nah it's cool, i'ma just eat on my own." She stopped and looked at me. Her eyebrows furrowed then rested, "Josiah's not here today. Don't worry, it ain't gon' be no more drama."

I smiled, "Good, I really ain't wanted to deal with him."

She smiled and continued walking towards the cafeteria. I chased after her, "By the way! I ain't scared of him, I just don't need no drama."

Ashanti laughed and spoke sarcastically, "I know that. My best friend be thuggin thuggin, she ain't scared a nobody." I wrapped my arm around her shoulder as we continued walking. "No cap!" I yelled, emphasis on 'cap'.

Half an hour into the lunch break, I got a call from Mrs. Greene. When I got off the phone, I grabbed my backpack. "Where are you going?" Ashanti asked. I swung the bag over my arms, "Yo auntie want me to help her out with her restaurant thingies"

"But you're in school right now." She said, confused. "She feed me and gives me a roof to sleep under. So if she needs me to take half a day offa school to help out with a lil' sum', then why wouldn't I?"I replied. Ashanti nodded, "Hm, I guess you right." I got up, "Yup. I'ma catch you and your friends later then."
