As I woke up I heard murmurs around me, I couldn't understand a thing! I fluttered my eyes open and squinted from the bright light. "Loak! Sne Oepend her ehes!" I felt a light tap on my back and turned around to my sibling, so that's what she looks like! At the time I only knew a few words, my name, Rainkit, my sisters name, Featherkit and the basic words like food, water, yes and no.

I woke up, but this time I was a few moons old. I stood up and looked to see if anyone else was awake, nope. Not even Redkit! He's always up early. I sighed and plopped down next to my mother's soft belly. From there I could peek out and see the dew-covered MossClan camp. No one out but Sunspot trotting towards the fresh kill pile for an early meal. My tail flicked in boredom.
"pfftshgs pah! Stop that Rainkit!" Featherkit whispered.
"Oops heheh.. Well, we can play now!"
"Noooo I'm tired" She flopped over and tried to fall asleep.
I sighed and made my way out of the nursery, weaving between sleeping cats. I crept across camp to the elders den to see if they had any stories to tell.
"Something about moving territories? I swear, NightClan is crazy."
"We won't be moving territories, Gorseleap. It's just one of their stupid claims, remember when they thought the fish were poisonous? That was funny."
Ugh, elder gossip I walk to the medicine den next the the elders den.
"You're up early, Rainkit" The medicine cat chimed
"How do you know my name!?"
"Well I helped your mom give birth and name you so, yes I know your name. I'm Fernleap if no one told you"
"I knew that!!" I in fact, did not know that.
"Why are you here little kit? Tummy ache?"
"I'm just bored" I mewed. Fernleap chuckled and sat up.
"I can teach you the herbs, if you want?"
"I don't have anything better to do." The small brown tabby headed over to the shelves and grabbed different herbs. She placed them in front of me, lining them up horizontally. "Woah, that's a lot."
She pointed with her paw to a yellow-whitish flower
"This is yarrow, you can chew it up into a poultice to help with infections." She moved on the the next plant, a collection of blue flowers. "This is borage, it soothes head and stomach aches." The next up was a long round leaf. "this is a dock leaf, it used for scratches and other small wounds." The last one wasn't a plant at all! It was silky, white strands of thin string. "And this, is a cobweb. It's used to stop bleeding or to patch up a wound."
For the next moon I had started to visit the medicine den to study the herbs instead of playing with the other kits, well, of course I saved time but most of it was for helping Fernleap.

"Cmon Fernleap! Pleaseeee? I'll be careful!"
"Rainkit dear, you know you can't just go outside the camp."
I sighed in frustration as I dipped my head. "okkk..."
We walked side to side to the medicine den. "would you like some water dear?"
"No, I'm good!"
"We could do another test?"
"Nooo.." I pointed to the different herbs. "borage, cobweb, chervil, cat mint, dandelion, honey, yarrow, death berries- wait hold on why do we have death berries!?"
"Oh, heh it's poisonous but small amounts can be used to make a cat throw something bad up!"
"Ohhhhhhhh, welp. I'm going to go play with Featherkit!" I ran out of the den and hurdled towards my sister, and with a final pounce I toppled on top of her with a THUMP!
"aAAAUGH... rude," Featherkit hissed with a laugh.
"Gotcha! You didn't stand a chance sis."
"Yea, not really. Wanna get the fat mouse on the fresh-kill pile?"
I stepped off of my sibling, "Is that even a question? Fluff yea!"
We raced to the small pile of food, me, of course getting there first and snatching the mouse by the tail.
